Christina Aguilera could tour this year says Manager
Quote:
We already knew that Christina Aguilera was planning to make a comeback this year with a brand new album, but we didn’t realize that it’d also involve going on tour.
In a new interview with Hits Double Daily, Xtina’s manager Irving Azoff revealed that the diva is currently preparing to hit the road, but whether or not it actually happens depends on fitting it in around her schedule on The Voice.
“We’re currently putting together a Gwen Stefani tour,” he revealed while discussing all the touring artists he manages. “Christina, depending on her commitments to The Voice, is getting ready.“
If an Xtina tour does happen, it’ll be her first since the Back To Basics tour in 2006-2007. She was due to tour her Bionic album back in 2010, but it was cancelled shortly after its announcement because of low ticket sales and the vicious media backlash against the Dirrty diva at the time.
Hopefully things work out better this year, but it’ll probably depend on how well her next album sells. Although, at this point in her career, Xtina has the name recognition and a strong enough back catalogue to tour off her past success. A full-scale Mariah/Kylie/Cher-style comeback would be nice, but it’s not essential.
I seen "Christina Aguilera could tour" then I thought straight after "But wont".
I hope she does. I NEED to see the queen live. Australia better not pay her dust when her next era comes around I don't care if its a theatre. I just need to see her!
So, reading between the lines there.. she will stay on the Voice for promo purposes and only tour if her album sells well, and even if it does, it likely won't be a big arena tour because it's not essential realistic. She needs to focus on getting a solo hit single first, I think. Then the hit album. Then the tour.
Realistically she could find success by having a joint tour with Maroon 5 or maybe Gwen Stefani. She needs to play off the voice audience because she hasn't be known for her solo music in years unfortunately.

I disagree. KGB:ADOH flopped and it's a bad catalog seller also. If people aren't willing to spend like 6 dollars on her catalog, what makes her manager think they'll spend 10x more? She NEEDS to get a successful era to re-introduce her catalog to tour with it.
