It's 78 from one angle, and 87 from the other angle.

87, the picture is flipped.
So from left to right it's really 90, 89, 88, 87, 86

I think it's 87. If you flip the image it becomes painfully clear. You know it can't be an arithmetic sequence because the difference between 16 and "06" is -10. It's not exponential either. Also, I don't think a space would be numbered 06.
It took me like 10 minutes of straight staring though.
