Charli XCX interviewed by MTV Japan

Charli XCX sat down for an interview at a skyscraper in the middle of New York City where she is following with the promotion of 'SUCKER', which is predictedto debut within the top 8 on the charts and the title track released as a single for an interview and a performance with MTV Japan. Charli XCX looked beautiful in the gown she was wearing. She sat down in a small, lips shaped love seats as she started discussing the album. Here's an excerpt below:
Host: Tell us about 'Sucker', the track itself. Why did you choose it as the next single?
Charli: It's a fan favorite, from the very start and I love the song, it's just really perfect and shows off everything sucker is about, between it's Punk-pop sound the raging chorus, the '**** YOU SUCKER'. I really love the song.
Host: The album is a really big move from your debut album, why is that?
Charli: Well I just find it really boring to stick to the same sound over and over again, especially only a year and a half after my debut. I had to change it up, and explore different sounds. I also didn't want people to compare my two albums and try to ask which is better because both are VERY different so basically incomparable.
Host: Many songs on the album are being praised by critics and by fans, which songs would you like to see eventually become singles?
Charli: Well I really wanted 'Sucker' and now it's done. I'd love to see 'SuperLove' receive proper single treatment as well as Need Your Love, Caught in the Middle and Famous. We'll see, but my label ahs been very supportive and wanted to help me push whatever song I wanted to push as current single. They are really good with me.
Host: Talking about labels why did you decide to move?
Charli: Well I didn't exactly decide myself but Variety Records proposed to purchase all the rights my old label had to bring me to them and I was all for it. I wanted a label that was very excited and helpful. And they turned out amazing.
Host: Are you going to go on tour?
Charli: I'm not sure yet, maybe. I just was touring the US and Europe, I'm not sure if I'm gonna tour more but anything can happen.
Charli also performed, the performance was broadcasted on MTV Japan and re-aired multiple times per week. The performance first featured 'Boom clap', her 2014 smash hit single. The performance was simple and Charli wore a light pink prom dress, she quickly changed outfits for the next performance, and wearing a red and gold leather short dress, Charli performed 'Doing It', a track from the album. She ended the performance with 'Sucker' during which Cara danced around playfully holding in her hand a gigantic red lollipop with 'SUCKER" written on it, just like on the album cover. 'SUCKER' is now available worldwide digitally on ITunes, Amazon MP3 and other similar digital retailers and physically, and features the single 'Boom Clap', 'Break The Rules' and 'Sucker'.

Flying to the Uk after a few appearances in the US this week promoting the brand new album 'Sucker', Charli XCX stopped by british radio station Capital FM to answer a few questions. "I'm very tied to my albums, I don't stop working on them until I'm done. I basically go into a trance and don't stop thinking about the album, the music, the instrumentals, the vocals and the effects until I know it's done" she said talking about the creation process of an album. Charli XCX also discussed a few more topics:
On her private life:
I'm really happy right now, I have a boyfriend and he's really good to me, better then the last one. I wrote one song about my ex-boyfriend on the album, I'll let the fans guess which one it is.
On doing music ever since she was 14:
Well I didn't even really like music that much back when I was 14 except for the Spice Girls and a few other bands, and then I started doing my own music, which was very childish , very cheap sort of music, I did a full album back then that wasn't released but which I think leaked. When I started performing at underground clubs and raves even before I was 18 it really changed my perception of music and what kind of music I wanted to do.
On finally releasing 'SUCKER':
My fans have been waiting for this album so long, I remember when I released 'SuperLove' back in September 2013, everyone was so excited about it, it was hard for both me and them to wait until the release. I sort of wan to re-release 'SuperLove'.
On artists today:
I'm really in love with so many songs released right now, I'm constantly jamming to Taylor Swift's Style, or Ryn Weaver's 'OctaHate' which I co-wrote. It's nice to see everyone doing some good music.
Charli then performed a few songs from the album, including 'Sucker', 'Famous', 'Boom Clap', 'Need Your Love', 'Doing It' and 'Caught in the Middle'. Charli XCX's album 'SUCKER' is now available for purchase digitally and physically and features the singles 'Boom Clap', 'Break The Rules' and 'Sucker'.

Charli XCX Top of the Pops Special

Top of the Pops might have ended nearly ten years ao, the BBC CEO decided to give it an extra come back, as part of a deal with Charli XCX's label Variety Records. "Variety Records approached us to sign a deal of a small comeback episode of Top of the Pops. That episode must be a Charli XCX only episode, which would be centered around her." said the BBC CEO. The deal cost Variety Records hundreds of thousands of pounds, but is an effective way to promote Charli XCX's album, the name of the show alone is enough to attract a large audience. After many commercials were aired throughout the previous week, the special titled 'Top of the Pops with Charli XCX" aired and was watched by more than 5 million viewers in the UK, making this huge and giving the album 'SUCKER' some impressive promotion.
The special consisted of airing all the Charli XCX music video released since 'Nuclear Seasons'. Which means videos for 'Nuclear Seasons', 'You're The One', 'You're The One', 'Take My Hand', 'Cloud Aura', 'So Far Away', 'What I Like', 'SuperLove', 'Boom Clap', 'Break The Rules' and 'Breaking Up' all air. After all the music videos aired, Charli XCX performed a concert full of songs from the album.
The concert started off with 'Sucker', the new single, which Charli performed wearing a black leotard with large black boots. 'Die To Night', 'Doing It' and 'Body of my Own' followed, during which the audience all cheered and screamed excited. She did an outfit change and performed in a regular prom dress for 'Boom Clap' before moving on to the single 'Break The Rules'. She then performed 3 old songs from her debut album 'True Romance' which were 'Nuclear Seasons', 'You're The One' and 'Grins'. To end the concert, Charli performed 'Need Your Love'.

Ryn Weaver signs with Variety Records
Ryn Weaver just signed with Variety Records, and all rights to concerning her previously released music is now moved to Variety Records. The Promises EP previously released was taken off ITunes along with the 'OctaHate' music video. 'OctaHate' will be re-released as single in the coming weeks under Variety Records and the music video will also be re-released soon. Ryn Weaver has been getting more and more attention over the past few months as publications have been constantly talking about her and is predicted to be the next big thing, as one of the rising stars who will reach fame in 2015. Ryn confirmed the move on Twitter as well before adding that she is working on her debut album out soon.
'OctaHate' will be soon available again.

Guiliana: So you have not toured for a while now…your last tour which caused a whole lot of headlines, and critical acclaim was your “Ko-Motion World Tour” and that show was a year ago. Now you’re preparing to hit the road again for your second headlining world tour, “The Definition of Bad World Tour”. What can your fans expect from this show and how do you get yourself ready for touring?
Natalia: It’s just a much bigger show. A whole lot of work has been put into this show and you know, now I have 2 albums to generate a setlist from so it’s a longer show. This show goes on for 2 Hours and 15 mins without breaks. There’s definitely going to be a lot of magic happening on stage. A lot of costume changes, stage effects, video content,…I mean it’s an extremely fun show. About how I get ready for a new tour…well, obviously I work out! I get my stamina back, do a lot of vocal preparations, rest my body and eat healthy and then I’m just ready to get on stage.
Guiliana: Okay, are you ready to show us your stage??
Natalia: I’m ready!
**Natalia opens up door and then shouts VOILA!”
Guiliana: OH MY GOD!!! This is breathtaking! You have really outdone yourself this time Kills!
Natalia: As I said, we wanted it to be a much bigger show. There’s a lot of things I would love to show you but I would show them to you off camera…all I can say to people watching is…this stage, this one you see now, it’s going to undergo a lot of changes throughout the course of the show!
Guiliana: Oh my gosh! This is so beautiful. And it says Coven, so I guess you were in the middle of something?
Natalia: Actually we were in rehearsal. You met us right in the middle of rehearsal and this point is towards the end of the show when I perform Coven de Couture.
Guiliana: That song is so haunting and really magical. Can we be expecting any magic tricks on stage for the performance of this song?
Natalia: You can expect a little magic for the performance of this song…but not only the performance of this song but most of the songs through each show to be honest.
Guiliana: Wow, it looks like it’s going to be such an incredible show…and tickets are sold out??
Natalia: Tickets are sold out! It’s crazy, I announced this show about a week ago and all the dates I announced are already sold out…it’s extremely mind blowing.
Guiliana: I mean, you are a force to be reckoned with on stage so I’m not so surprised. Tickets are gonna be available for new dates though right?
Natalia: Ya! So if you didn’t get tickets for the shows that were announced, you just might get a second opportunity…keep looking out for dates, that’s all I can say for now.
Guiliana: It looks like it’s going to be such an exciting show Kills…I wish you all the best and have fun on the road.

**Coven de Couture plays through the speakers as Natalia walks out with one hand on her hip strutting down to hug Ellen. She hugs ellen, air kisses her on both cheeks and then proceeds to sit down.**
Ellen: How are you Kills?
Natalia: Ecstatic, first time on the Ellen couch, what a leap!
Ellen: Right? The last time we saw you was last year when you sang “War, Lies, Love, Money” for us and here you are now with a new album out, a single that’s all over the country and a world tour…look how far you’ve come.
Natalia: To be honest, I’m just grateful about everything that’s happening in my life right now.
Ellen: You hit the road when? Tomorrow??
Natalia: I hit the road starting Monday. So that’s in 3 days. I’m beyond excited about it.
Ellen: I would think so. Let’s talk about your album “The Definition of Bad”…everybody is talking about it and everybody is just in love with it. I mean, I’ve not seen so many critics praise one album this much since…I can’t recall. I have read no bad review and people are calling the album a “masterpiece” and “ingenuis”. How does putting a record like this together happen?
Natalia: First of all you need to have an amazing team. I am blessed with an extremely wonderful and hardworking team and they make the process a lot smoother. It’s a lot of times alone, and just going into that special place and into those special moments and not being afraid to talk about them.
Ellen: Even for songs like “XXX”, and “Stilettos”? You had to go to a “special” place?
**Natalia and audience laugh**
Natalia: Yes Ellen, I still had to go into a special place for those 2 songs, although the inspiration for those songs took some heavy action and sweaty nights if you know what I mean.
Ellen: This is daytime TV Natalia, I have no idea what your talking about.
Natalia: Okay Ellen, if you say so but we all know that you and Portia are freaks!
Ellen: Okay next subject.
**Natalia and audience laugh**
Ellen: You have so many great songs on this album and so far all we’ve gotten is one single…should we expect another single from this album?
Natalia: Expect another single, but it will only be coming if/when Coven goes platinum.
Ellen: Interesting! If you were to have another single, what would you want it to be?
Natalia: WOW! That’s a really good question…if I wanted another single, I think it would be “Whirlwind” just because that song is pure 80s disco dance sound or “Eyes Shut” just because of how vulnerable and real the song is or perhaps even “Wounded Fist” just to create awareness about domestic violence. It’s truly a lot of options to choose from.
Ellen: You have to go and prepare for your performance. It was amazing talking to you Natalia.
Natalia: Thank you so much for having me!

Jordin: Great questions. More Than Happy does have a more light R&B sound. More like a No Air but more UPMH. More Than Happy is considered to be my Second if Work From Home isnt. My second single is releasing before my album!
Interviewer: If "Double Tap" goes #1 how would you feel
Jordin: More Than Happy! But it will be a bonus if it charted at all. It was such a hectic week. My girl Kelly have her new song out and my label is trying to help her out with it.

Jordin: Yes! We are on a bit of a rotation.
Interviewer: Tell us about "Double Tap" and its impact to your Pop to R&B Cross over
Jordin: Double Tap further improved my ease to please R&B fans. Most of them wanted It Takes More from Battlefield to be released but Jive was acting like the dumb ****s they were. Sadly No Air,Celebrate and I Am Woman are the only jams i could give R&B/urban fans.
Interviewer: Any pop songs on the album..As a bonus to your pop fans
Jordin: 3-4 ish actually Double Tap was supposed to be a catchy fun pop song but turned into a catchy club shaking song.

Jordin Sparks brings fashion and music to ANTM
Is That a Bikini? Around this time of the year? Jordin! JORDIN? Jordin Sparks took a usual summer beach out fit and wearing it to a performance for soon to be models on Tyra's show. "If you love fashion and clothes, then you should wear it freely. If its too hot outside you can still wear something you think is beautiful. For example a lovely sweater. People may call you crazy or a freak but you are being different" Jordin stated to the models. Both men and women are encouraged to show up, and for the first time in "ANTM" history, there are no height requirements for aspiring models.
Now lets not forget Jordin Sparks was a model before so watch out! She is definitely being different.Jordin is back making great music; she is planning on dropping a full length album titled ‘Right Here, Right Now’ sometime this year. Her song Double Tap is the official first single off her album and it could also serve as a club hit. It also states that Jordin looks better than her ex's last one. Speaking of different she broke out her new single "Double Tap" this week. The song is featuring the somewhat fashionable rapper himself, 2 Chainz. The song takes a urban club approach rather than the Pop Jordin we know. She sampled some urban some urban material with I Am Woman but this one is more smooth and clean.
Jordin took to the stage tonight and performed Double Tap in her two piece. The models was left inspired by her performance. Jordin did not dance as much and 2 Chainz was caught flirting with one of the contestants. The performance overall was sexy as usual and great. Personally she greeted and spoke with each contestant. Tyra gave Jordin a huge hug too.
