Depends where you live sometimes whether it be in metropolitan areas or country areas.

I'm 17 and I've worked 2 part time jobs (both got the job straight away on the spot) but my town depends heavily on the mining industry thus therefore making it a mining town. Lately, the mines have been going not so well so a lot of jobs have been lost and hours cut back.

It took me a good 15 months to get mine, and this is a basic grocery store job.

Many people get weeded out by the assessment, and background check. Getting in contact with a hiring manager /HR person is another beast in itself.Then you get caught up with writing resumes (I could have had a job cleaning the floors at the local Hospital BUT there's no way in hell I was going to write a resume especially when my accomplishments and job history were as thin as they were)

I had to hear NO a few times,and I embarrassed myself on a job interview or two,being under prepared and all but in the end,I found something (one that in retrospect, I had a feeling I was going to get)

Nepotism is always the best way, it's all about who you know.

But I got my first job during a summer in college by applying like crazy. I applied to 20-30 positions.

I know you're not supposed to,but me personally, I had to be a bit selective with where I applied.

Someone with a personality like mine would DEFINITELY not be ideal working kitchen jobs other than perhaps washing dishes. That's not necessarily saying I'm above doing it,but it's something I've strayed away from doing,due to the fact that it just wouldn't work well.Any jobs where pay is based off of commission were also off the table. Again, I'm not someone who has an innate talent to talk people into buying goods just so I can make quotas either.

I like my job.Might not be the highest paying, for the field it's in but it's a learning experience. Been here for a year and some change.

The best way to get a job is to have connections tbh.
It also depends on your age too.
I'm doing this thing that if I volunteer for 16 hours, I get a guaranteed job interview.

I looked for about four weeks until I found a job. I had applied to maybe 10-15 jobs when I got invited for my first interview, I went there and they hired me two days later (I don't have connections or a degree).

I think the best way is just apply to as many ads as possible, and make sure that you sell yourself well in your application.

It's never been difficult for me but it's because the jobs that I've had have never been very lucrative so...

It's very easy in my field, actually. I teach English in a foreign country and the job literally came to me, I wasn't even looking But that might be because I'm valuable to them since I am from the US.
