Victoria Justice speaks on Ariana + Music career
Quote:
Speaking of friendships, you wanted to respond to the backlash you received after Ariana Grande's interview in Seventeen a few years ago.
"Even though Ariana said it wasn’t true, our fans still believed that I bullied her, and that really bothered me. I’m super anti-bullying, and I’ve never bullied anyone in my life. I want people to know that."
Have you two moved past all the drama since?
"We’re not enemies. I mean, I wouldn’t call her up to have a sleepover, but at the end of the day, I wish her well. She’s doing great with her music, and she’s very talented. We’re just on our separate paths, doing our own things."
A lot of your fans are dying to know when you'll release your first album. Any updates?
"After doing music on Victorious, I had a deal to do a solo record, but the whole thing just didn't feel organic, so I asked to be let out of my deal. Since then, I've been more focused on acting. But I consider myself a singer-songwriter. I like writing music, and I have things that I want to say and ways that I want to say it. So for all the fans who I've been telling for years, "My album's coming," eventually I will put my music out there, and it's going to be great because it's going to be on my terms."
