True. She's just used as a scapegoat because many feel oppressed and want to blame an example...she would be the example of why many urban artists are not successful or have to work harder and longer...according to the urban community.
Do people really think generations of artist incorporating urban music as their influence is going to stop with Iggy when it started with Elvis/Beach boys etc.
Her points are interesting though

Or they understand that being on the train of complain and use the player as a punching bag is not their cup of tea.
Who is aiming at the labels and the main players? No one.
She just needs to understand it comes with the territory and needs to be strong to endure it because it won't end soon.

For her to use history as justification is sickening. It's as if she's saying, since it happened before I see nothing wrong with it.
It's so embarassing.

Nope. she's just being smart to understand that this is what has been done and there has ALWAYS been a group complaining about things that won't change but as long as the artist make the right moves they will endure and move forward.
It shouldn't be embarrassing at all to understand the business you are in.
Now if she were appropriating the culture than that's one thing but she is clearly influenced by the urban culture and I don't see that she's making fun of it while profiting. I don't see her as making parodies of the urban culture.

Ok? Don't use that as an excuse and cripple yourself. At the end of the day things come to those who work hard. Iggy worked hard for years to get where she is...

That's how it is...people use examples to vicariously blame and those examples continue forward.
Nothing new...she seems aware of her lane and knows what she needs to do to stay there.
A majority WILL usually prefer an artist they can identify with serving them that music
Frank Sinatra
Justin timberlake
Madonna
Mariah

Iggy
Eminem

Second off, the point is that white people obtain success due to their skin color & surpass blacks with ease. So why wouldn't majority of the black community become upset over her gaining success & fame due to her color & not her talent?

So instead of blaming the game you hate the player.
Now if the player is throwing it in their faces and making fun and being disrespectful than fair game.
however,if the player is acknowledging their influence and showing respect why NOT aim higher and go for the game.
Because it's easy and simple to go for what's at arm's length vs. thinking broader and smarter.
That applies across the aboard but especially with racial complaints
