The reason people go in on her harder than Macklemore is primarily because of her refusal to acknowledge her privileges afforded by her race. Beyond that, Macklemore isn't adding insult to injury rapping in a ridiculous fake accent on top of rapping badly and having awards thrown at him for it. He did get blasted hard tho and even though people were going in, he wasn't really feeding into further talking points because how much more is there to say when the person that is subject of the talk is saying, "yeah -- what you're saying is valid and I agree with you!"? Iggy keeps feeding it with dumb and culturally ignorant and insensitive remarks like this.

I mean Elvis? Really? That is probably one of the worst possible examples of White appropriation and subsequent erasure of Black artists in a musical genre cultivated by Black culture in history and she's proudly citing that as following a historical trend. The astounding ignorance. Ugh.

But she needs to acknowledge the fact that if a black person did Fancy it wouldn't have been a #1 hit, it would been limited to rhythmic/urban radio.
