I definitely want JoJo to release neo soul, R&B music. She can do great with a pop sound but she is so much more than that and I hope and trust she will stick to her roots

She needs to do that Hybrid Janet/Drake sound she did with Agape.

Thank God she's not indie. Indie as an R&B artist (yes, that's what she is) is suicide.

Although the wait sucks for us it could be signs of greatness to come. A proper comeback is gonna take a lot more than just releasing a good song. I'd rather them take their time have an amazing song and a well thought-out plan than just release a song in hopes it does well.

And I'd say the reason behind the wait is JoJo taking her time with the album and her whole team figuring out how to go about this.

Granted I love her full R&B ways shes been doing since her last album, I think her being Pop/R&B would be great. Her official two albums are like that anyway.

She could be a more mature sounding Ariana Grande.

Oh, definitely. I highly doubt she'll come back with pure pop songs, After recording in Sweden, she then went and recorded with MNEK. I wouldn't be surprised if they're just testing different sounds and seeing what sticks. Given how long she has been out, they have no reason to rush. What they need to do is get it perfect.

From the sounds of it, Atlantic went through considerable efforts to help her get released from the contract which is why she signed with them so quickly. And seems her trip to Europe was on their orders. So evidently they're involved and attentive. I'm not worried.

Between FKA, Tinashe, and Jhene, not to mention the older ladies in the game, female R&B seems incredibly crowded right now and I feel like she'd get lost in the shuffle without incredibly strong material if she chose that route.

Most of the pop-rock material in the direction of "Disaster" that I've heard seems like it's not up to her potential either.

Atlantic needs to do her justice. That's all.

There is absolutely a gap in the market for a young, modern, big-voiced R&B singer. She just needs to come hard with singles get the mixture of Pop and RnB right.

And, let's face it, she's white. If the last few years have shown anything, it's that the public (and award shows) just love a white person singing/rapping "black music". She obviously is a natural R&B singer, one of the best around and deserves every success if she manages to get any this time around. But let's be real.
