Impressions almost always keep the bigger songs on top longer than detections, so this situation was quite unusual. On Mediabase Airplay, "Shotgun Rider" fell to #2 on the Published Country Airplay Chart, but held onto #1 on the All-Stations Chart (which I use) by a slim 38,000 impressions and a slightly wider 122 spins.

Its so ironic. The mediabase published chart is based on Spins, which somehow favored Brad in Spins, but said Tim had more AI. Then when it comes to the Billboard Country Airplay Chart, apparently Brad had the edge in AI but Tim was said to have more spins this past week
So really, in a way, Tim could have easily had another week at #1 on both Mediabase and Billboard if Soundscan and Mediabase traded their chart data since Tim was #1 in spins on BB and #1 in AI on mediabase.
For the record, I will pretty much write this week off that Tim McGraw's Shotgun Rider and Brad Paisley's Perfect Storm
Tied for the #1 spot, since they basically had split #1's between AI/Spins data.
BTW why is it brian and I are the only ones who discuss country updates in here? (most of the time)
