I would just like to say that Rihanna is always a favorite to compare Gaga too in terms of an under performing era then a successful one but wouldn't Kelly Clarkson be a better comparison with My December?
Gaga needs to embrace the commercial aspect of promoting. A lot of people seem to forget she caught people's attention with her very engaging music videos, when she got more pretentious and less entertaining in that aspect (it all started with 'Alejandro'), people started to write her off. I'm sure Pitchfork would have reviewed 'Born this Way' and 'ARTPOP' if only they had impactful videos as the ones of her first two albums which got single and album reviews.
Make impactful videos again, Gaga, and you're back on track, musically you're evolving and probably need more but it's ridiculous how you blame a lot stuff for having less success when your main problem is the terrible decline in your music vids.
With Loud, Rihanna gave into the pressure to create a digestible album. Gaga does not seem willing to do the same. ARTPOP was clearly the team vs. Gaga ( again ) where someone wanted commercial Gaga but Gaga wanted art Gaga. With the way things turned out, and Gaga now chanting '**** pop music,' I don't see her playing the quirky pop music girl again.
Gaga could release an album stronger than ARTPOP though with similar numbers (I think she can go platinum in the US again).
Rated R wasn't an immense flop, take a sit. A platinum album in the US with three top 10 hits including a #1 isn't a failure. Especially when it sold 3 million copies worldwide. And no, Gaga can pull a Rihanna since she doesn't appeal to any other demographic than gays.
honey, your own fave said exact same thing as him, you're fighting a loosing battle here
Gaga was (is?) delusional though. At the same time she said her music was not radio friendly by calling her music on ARTPOP an exquisite hard to digest dinner compared to other generic French fries of songs out there.

Rated R sold over one million more copies than Artpop, got more critical acclaim, had a five week top charting single and two more top tens. If RR is an immense flop, Artpop is the biggest flop by a main pop girl this millennium.
Can GaGa come back? Yes
Can she be as big as she was pre-artpop? Probably not.
Anyway Artpop is the bigger flop
Yes, Gaga can come back. No, Rated R wasn't a huge flop but The Navy needs to sit down, it wasn't a smash album either especially considering the time when it was released.
I meant CAN'T. Keep trying Monsters, Gaga isn't appealing to any other demographic than gay pop stans, hence why her latest album underperformed so hard.
It's certainly possible for her to make a comeback,
but at the end of the day it's all about how she plays her cards
I really do hope she gets it together tho
I miss her kooky ass, and she has way too much potential for her to be letting her pretension ruin her like this
