It's one of the most B'Day remembered songs, but it isn't that much of a big deal. The reason why it was sang so much on competition reality TV shows is because is a good song to prove your vocals, that's it. I'm sure Single Ladies wasn't sing in a single one of these shows and still it's more popular than Listen (even if it's local, because I don't think SL is iconic at all).
This was performed even in my country when this song is a non-factor, as the whole B'Day era (except Beautiful Liar and Amor Gitano)
