A lot of kids know if they're gay/trans around this age so I don't understand what the problem is. It's one thing to want to play football and wear boys clothes but to change your name completely? I doubt it's 'just a phase'.
I love how they're supporting her at such a young age and not forcing her into conforming because that's the norm. If only more parents of trans kids were as open minded

When I was a kid I used to love boy toys and was overall quite tomboy-ish and even at one stage started saying that I was a boy believe it or not, but for me that was just a phase and never questioned my gender after that.

I think it's unfair to label her as trans just yet. She's just a kid.
