EPISODE 4 Model Behavior:
Top members come and go, but the rules never change. Or do they? For this challenge, you've all been promoted to moderator, and Athens has given you a special job: To come up with a new rule for ATRL. Think of something members do that you want outlawed on this site. Maybe go literal and censor another word, or go outside the box and ban new members from using the smiley; this is open to interpretation. Your challenge this week is to PM me your new rule, a brief explanation of why it is needed, and three example posts that could be warned using it.
Example Entry
Quote:
My rule: The word “iconic” will now be banned and treated in the same way as other censored words. Variations like ic0nic are warnable as well.
This rule is desperately needed; our members seem to have lost their grasp of the word. When something is misused repeatedly, it loses its luster (car engines, weapons, Madonna’s career, etc). It’s high time we took action. Below is a sampling of the posts we could forever remove from ATRL:

By banning the word iconic, we can move forward to an ATRL with more original thought. Well...Okay, original thought might be asking too much. But at least they’ll have to Google synonyms before posting.

My entry this week is envisioned as a challenge for a post-upgrade utopian ATRL where registration is regularly open; ideally, there would be legitimate newbies on the site. Although the ATRL Quick Guide challenge is always good to test the contestants' resolve (especially in a group setting) and inspire drama, the entries tend to be pretty similar every cycle. I've come up with this challenge as either an experiment in replacing Quick Guide for one cycle, or maybe as its own game if anyone wants to expand it. It's more personal than quick guide and would require outside participation, but I think it's a cute idea.
EPISODE 47 ADOPT A NEWBIE Although this game is about becoming ATRL's next top member, none of you have been actual newbies for awhile now. Your challenge this week is to meet a newbie on the site, preferably someone who joined less than a month ago. Consider girls in the New Member Orientation thread, confused stans from Twitter who now spam your fave's base thread, members who have accidentally stumbled into Blogs or SYG for the first time and clearly don't know what they've gotten into, etc. If they agree to accept your guidance, the rest of your challenge is to provide one-on-one mentoring that will transform them from a Femme Fatale Tour Britney into a more tightly choreographed Vegasney.
Exactly how you accomplish this is up to you, but you should ideally help them set up anything on their profile they haven't already, get them comfortable interacting with other fans around the site, and encourage them to explore all the areas of ATRL. Every contestant will likely have their own unique spin on what it means to adopt a newbie. I don't expect you to be online every second of the day with them, but I know you're all active enough to help someone get their bearings.
Due to the nature of this challenge, you have longer than usual to submit. I'm giving you all a week. At the end of the week, I'd like you to PM me the username of the newbie you mentored and a full yet concise account of your mentoring strategy. I'll then contact each newbie and ask them to describe their experience being mentored by you; was it positive or negative, do they feel like a real member now, and did they make a new friend?

Make an entry that looks back on your top moments in 2014. Whether it be your hit threads, messy posts & drags, avatars, and more -- make it as if it's a post looking back on your year in ATRL during 2014. However you do this is up to you. If you're really ATRL's Next Top Member, then you possess the past moments and accomplishments that have lead you to it.

So you guys could get how this challenge would work if you had any confusion or such, here's a quick example I made (very quick) of how you could go about doing it.
Example Entry.
A collection of some of my most used avatars and personal favorites throughout 2014.
A collection of some of my biggest threads and favorite thread-making moments in 2014.
I was able to get the chance to host Create a Label 6 for 5 weeks during Summer, it instantly became a hit. With over 500 pages, 10,000 replies, it is the 5th biggest tournament on ATRL ever.
In 2014 I was able to host 2 of the biggest Award Shows on ATRL -- Monster Awards & ATRL Member Awards. Both threads got thousands of replies and became a nice event, along with showing my side of hosting, a step towards being ATRL's Next Top Member.
This year I was able to become a chart freak, and for over 10 weeks I was the OP of weekly Billboard threads. Posting the chart information helped me meet new people on ATRL, and also spread the knowledge and receipts the ATRLers thrive off. The thread above in particular got over 1,000 replies and was the week 'Shake It Off' debuted #1; blocking 'Anaconda'. Historical moment, eh?
In 2014, I was also showing my leadership further by becoming the OP of 2 huge bases -- Mariah Carey & Usher. Them being some of my favorite artists was exciting enough, but to be the King OP was a good moment for the Mr. iHype.
A collection of some of my biggest achievements on ATRL in 2014.
Additionally I won 3 Monster Awards in 2014 for 'Best Avatar', 'Most Improved Monster', and 'Best New Monster'.
I also won 2 Lambily Awards in 2014 for 'Most Popular Lamb' + 'Lamb Who Posts Most Receipts'.
Keep in mind this challenge also doesn't have to have the New Years' theme to it, it can be in general showing a portfolio of your top moments on ATRL. I just thought it was especially cute and relevant to cater it to the past year w/ New Years happening.

As a top member, you should be able to represent ATRL across the Internet. We are going to be sending you out from the microcosm of ATRL, into the world... wide web. Let's say, theoretically, that registrations will be opening soon on this forum. We will be looking for a diverse, intriguing group of new members to join ATRL. However, many of these prospective members have no idea what ATRL is all about, or their demographic might not be interested in the site. Additionally, there are people who have a negative perception of ATRL. Your goal in this challenge is to create a marketing campaign for ATRL that highlights its best qualities, and encourages multiple demographics to join the forum when registration opens. We are trusting you with the reputation of our site, and are looking for exciting ways to promote our forum. Go deeper than the dry explanation of, "It's a pop music forum." Ask the question: what does ATRL mean to you?... and go from there. There are many ways to approach this challenge -- you can design a new logo, create slogans, conceptualize Internet advertisements, run a promotional social media account. Your goal is to share your enthusiasm for this site, and make our next registration day the most successful ever! The best marketing campaigns may be used in the future!

With registration opening, there will be many opportunities to promote the forum to potential new users. You may be finding yourself referring a future top member to the community! For this challenge, you will be creating a promotional poster for ATRL. In this poster, you should include a variety of different features and facts about the forum that would encourage people to check us out and possibly become a part of the community. Be sure to put some creativity into your poster, and make it informative without being too overbearing. The more exciting and attention-grabbing, the better.
NOTE: This should not be seen as another "quick guide" to ATRL! This poster is for the purpose of bringing new faces onto the forum, not teaching them how to use it.

10 challenges in and we are still having problems with your entries
My opinion doesn't matter in the slightest, at least!
Idea-wise, I like Vespertine's the most. Taking into account how it could work, I only see Hype's being a realistic challenge. Though it does pose a bit of a bias against newer members. Element and Marq were really close, though I like Element's write-up a bit more.
Overall, eh. I think all of us could have done better.
I just sent in my most/least potential. You guys made it harder to choose than I expected.

No, y'all are free to say whatever you'd like. I got the most votes for least potential in my cycle and I had the lowest contestant average every single challenge.
Vespertine and iHypes entries were the only ones that stood out as unique to me. But Vespertines seems like it'd be better as an event then a single challenge.
I loved iHypes a lot. So much I wish I could have done it during my cycle
The other 3 seem all to familiar in past games or ANTM
I like Vesp's the most, but shout out to Element. That ambition for cycle 19 and that complete make over.
Thank you! 19 is my favorite number, so that is why I went with it. I love lavender, and I chose my birthday as the deadline, so I put a slice of myself in there
