I like being gay actually. It affords me luxuries I wouldn't have being straight.
Like I can literally ignore the expectations of being straight and not worry about being attracted by women.

It varies from person to person.

For example if you live in a big city in a liberal non-religious country, then it's probably good (especially in terms of getting sex). If you live in a conservative highly-religious small town then it'd suck, because there probably wouldn't be any sort of a gay community there, and people would think you're evil or whatever.

It can also be difficult being straight. Straight girls are everywhere, but for most guys 99.9% of them are not ever going to sleep with them, it can be difficult finding the one who will (compared to gay guys since most guys are open to promiscuous sex just for fun). Also, if you're a feminine straight guy, it can be bad, as other straight guys will ridicule you all the time, you'll be bottom of the barrell socially, you'll be friend-zoned with girls all the time, etc.

It really depends on your personality, where and when you live, what your family are like, whether you live in a rural area or not, etc.

Gays who look for love on Grindr

When it comes to relationships, gay men don't really have clear models to look at. Sure, some could mimic their parent's, assuming their heterosexual parent's had a successful marriage (a remainder to all you that straight marriages are not paradise); that is not always going to work either. Gays do lead a different lifestyle because we haven't been conditioned in a similar way. We are all conditioned to get married, but to the opposite sex. That's why you have older gay men who have fathered children with their wives (a moment of silence).

I also do not get why single gay men are bashed for being promiscious, when straight people do the same. The major difference is may just happen a little quicker with two men. Let them play. Do not get upset because you're looking for love in all the wrong places. Stop going to bars. Get off Grindr. Stop uploading shirtless pics with #selfie #gaysoftheweek and put some work into actually finding a relationship.

In short, I do find some aspects easier and some parts challenging. The challenging parts come from there being no real guide to relationships for us, and it is as though we are watching it develop with the times.
