But, there are a couple of songs better than Reflektor.
I'm beginning to enjoy using that clip a little too much.
Okay, deep breaths...yes, I do wanna know. I want to hideaway. I want to follow Kacey's arrow. I have a fever. I am 90's music (even if I'm not a fan of the song). I am sleeping with a friend. I am the mother and father. I am your best friend. I am magic. I am the sweater weather. And yes, I am all the rage back home.
Hunger of the Pine so low! It's one of the best songs of the year
Interpol!!! I love their music Boom Clap + Chandelier
amost half of my top 10 is there..
fantastic set
Wow @ how half your top 10 is my #51-#60

Aw, Budapest out already. I would love to go there too someday.
It deserves that position, btw.
Oh Boom Clap I also never thought Charlotte was capable of making a sweet song but she proved me wrong with this one.
I like Girls, very different from their usual sound. Also, it's like their first colored music video.
XO is very underrated but I really love it coz it's not your usual Bey song.
I didn't listen to her album, but yeah Glow was a bit of a non-event for me.
It's really a beautiful place! Next time when you go bring me along.
Don't be rude lil Ron!
Idk, did she have anything similar on her debut album?

Sweater Weather is great but it's more 2013 for me. Budapest, Boom Clap, Girls ATRL hates XO because it flopped, it's like the best Bey song in years. Chandelier is lower than I expected but it's not like it deserved to be any higher
It's late 2013, hence 2014 for me.
Oh you don't like Chandelier/Sia too?

I love Automatic I never liked Miranda Lambert until I heard this song,
Boom Clap, XO, and Chandelier. Chandelier, its slayage tho. I've seen it on like every list. Sia better dominate
Chandelier is freaking popular on atrl tho

Thank you. *bows*
But really, Reflektor is far from being one of my faves.
Yes, I am very thoroughly amused.

I actually heard "Ghost" for the first time the other day, and I use. It has a really neat sort of layout / style.
"Chandelier", "Boom Clap" and "XO" are also all great songs as well, all were played quite a lot this year.
Red's kind of amazing for that Rocko video he posted
I hated Sweater Weather when I first heard it, then I realized I was just being a hater and I shook it off. I love it now. I think they really speak to me and how I always need a sweater to be warm in cold weather.
I agree that Boom Clap is perfection and so is XO (I'd give the edge to XO as perfectioner). I need to check out interpol
This song is my lowest charting #1 single, poor ha. Anyways, George is such a stunning man. His voice is simply out of this world. It's so rich and wholesome, it's a eargasm to hear him sing. This song is a good soft rock ode to I assume, the city
UGH. I wanna go to Budapest too! The song is amazing how dare you!

. Even better when the song slows down into this Hawaiian style breakdown. I just feel like I'm sitting by the beach and chilling
LOL. Same sentiments here! Love Sweater Weather especially the breakdown.

I thought this was surprising. I always imagined Charli's music to be all vulgar and abrasive and edgy etc. But this is such a sweet lovey pop song. I remember feeling that "boom clap" sounds so cheesy and so un-punkish but it grew on me since this song is pop perfection. The booming beats, the catchiness, this is sugary sweet perfection
REALLY? I thought of her as a super sweet girl! Although I never really cared to listen to her discography besides Boom Clap and her two features (Fany, I Love It) I need to dig deep into this girl perhaps.
Love love Girls!

ATRL seems to hate this like wtf guys. Tbh I thought it was fine as a single (maybe not lead, but whatever) but sadly it flopped anyway. This song is perfect. So dreamy yet so anthemic in the chorus. It kinda reminds me of some good times in early 2014 too so that's nice.
Let me listen to XO right now. THANKYOU for this. ATRL loves to hate this song. I think this is one of the highlights of BEYONCE. It's actually my most played song on BEYONCE.
I prefer this song a lot more to Uptight Downtown. This song is effortlessly catchy and has a proper hook unlike the latter. This whole song is just cute and boppy. Plus, the video is so good. So deliciously colorful, and I love it when Elly is smiling and acting all weird in it!

Summer
Calvin Harris
2013: Alone Together - Fall Out Boy
Peak: #6
Weeks: 12
Funny how Calvin has said that he doesn't want to sing anymore, yet he releases Feel So Close and this song. I thought this song was a little similar to Under Control, but it's a pretty good club banger, though it doesn't have that unique touch his older music had. And, extra info for ASF! Calvin slayed my Best Of 2012, he had 3 songs in the top 15, Feel So Close (#12), Let's Go (#4) and We Found Love (#3).

Rather Be (feat. Jess Glynne)
Clean Bandit
2013: Goodbye Goodbye - Tegan and Sara
Peak: #6
Weeks: still charting
I first heard this song in the earlier parts of 2014, but it didn't catch on to me. I finally kinda got into it a few months later, but then again I wasn't fully in love. But one day, I was at this carnival thingy and they blasted this song. It sounded so good and it made me feel so happy. And from then on I loved it. This song is nice and light. The pre-chorus is really catchy and it just leads to the huge payoff in the chorus. Marvelous.

Tonight You're Perfect
New Politics
2013: Crazy Kids - Kesha Rose
Peak: #3
Weeks: 12
This song gets me so pumped up. The whole chorus just makes me wanna jump and shout "OH OH OHOH" over and over. And that video just makes me wanna travel with my friends and do all sorts of stuff together, which makes me really sad but nvm let's not.

Goodness Gracious
Ellie Goulding
2013: 22 - Taylor Swift
Peak: #2
Weeks: 12
Goodness gracious this song is just pure goodness. That synth riff is everything and it puts me in such a great mood. The high pitch "off" in the chorus sounds weird at first, but I think it's a nice element that elevates the chorus. Strange thing though, it seemed like I totally forgot about this song's existence after it's run on my charts cuz I barely played it since then till now.

True Love
Coldplay
2013: House of Gold - twenty | one | pilots
Peak: #11
Weeks: 14
When Ghost Stories came out, this song just hit me like a rock. It literally almost made me cry. Firstly, the lyrics are very heartbreaking (like the whole album) but the best part is the second half of the song, when the sparse guitar solo starts. It just makes me feel a thousand emotions, it's just so so so beautiful. However, a lot of people are gonna drag me for this, but I HATED the video. This song gives me insane beautiful visuals, not a cutesy sweet story. Ughhhh.

Take It Or Leave It
Cage the Elephant
2013: Made In the USA - Demi Lovato
Peak: #8
Weeks: 9
My favourite song of theirs. This song has such a groovy retro sound I just can't help but bop along. And then the chorus hits and I bust out my imaginary guitar and strum it really hard and shout the lyrics. Such a good bop.

Something In The Water
Carrie Underwood
2013: The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy
Peak: #2
Weeks: still charting
Is that J.Lo in the cover? Okay, this song literally takes me to church. Carrie's vocals are insanely powerful and majestic. It's like she's basically god and just belting out to us. You can read more about it in my review of the song of course.

My Song 5 (feat. A$AP Ferg)
HAIM
2013: The Mother We Share - CHVRCHES
Peak: #2
Weeks: 15
When I heard this song on the album I didn't really like it. I thought it was weird and dark and strange. So, I was kinda surprised when they released this as a single. But it made me like the song a lot more. The production is out of this world for this song. From the deep bass, the banging beats, the crazy guitar riffs to the hip-hop productions, this song is a feast. And the video is quite a feast too.

We Exist
Arcade Fire
2013: Here's To Never Growing Up - Avril Lavigne
Peak: #5
Weeks: 8
Yep this was one of the songs that are better than Reflektor that I was talking about! This song has a bit of disco influences and it makes me wanna dance too. But the best thing about this song is that video. Choreographed by the same guy who did Chandelier, it features Andrew Garfield in drag! And dancing! While I think the dancing in Chandelier was more spectacular, this one is more of like a cathartic emotional burst, given the theme of the song and video. Oh but the bad thing about this video is that baby Andrew had to shave his head.
Aaaaand we are in the top 50! Getting closer to that #1!
In the next set:
- A song where California, Oregon and Washington are.
- When you hear this song you will get a curse and can't stop dancing.
