It was a really rough performance, especially that last note
It sucks that she can slay this song when she's comfortable (see Jimmy Fallon) but in big areas she gets nervous
Idina Menzel is a theater icon. She can do what she want.
She has a tendency to do terrible on live television for some reason though. She's much better when she's on the stage and not giving a **** what anyone is thinking. The anxiety must get to her on TV which is odd.
No excuse can defend her performance, let alone, this really odd one.
And to those saying the cold weather affected her voice, there are PLENTY and plenty of artists that perform under worse conditions and still hit way more than "75% of the notes".

It really wasn't perfectly fine. I know Idina can do better, just listen to any recordings from if/then, but this performance was a hot mess.

But other than that it was fine for someone performing outdoors in such cold weather. And hey, if people don't forget about this performance, she can change her stage name to "Adele Dazeem" and start anew!
She performed the song very well!! She just missed that big note!
Christina always mess up notes and people still recognizes her as a great vocalist because she is a great performer and she always loses herself in the song. That is the exact same point Idina is stating here...
