Girls is one of my favourite shows of all time, so that.
I really don't like Looking. It annoys me how isolated they are from the straight world. A lot of gay people on the scene are like that, but a lot aren't. I live in one of the world's gay capitals and I interact with straight people 50 times more than gay people. Then again, I'm also 22, so being gay is a really small part of my identity, whereas the generation above me/us (like the characters in Looking) would've made friends with other gay guys because they needed to stick together, and people weren't as accepting of gay men as they were 15-20 years ago. It focuses on a city's gay scene too much, and only a niche amount of gay men are into the scene.
Then again, I could relate to GIRLS more because it depicts the stage of life that I'm currently in, early 20s, recently graduated, trying to figure out what I want in a career/relationship while living in a ridiculously expensive city, being really selfish and not even being aware of it. Slé.
