Miley Cyrus on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
(With Special Announcement)

Miley Cyrus is a guest on Jimmy Fallon to dish on her American Horror Story debut plus talk about the upcoming album on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon show this Friday evening later when she arrived at LAX after a heavy promotion schedule in New York City.
Just a day ago, Miley Cyrus teased a return in her film career during her interview with Z100, after being asked about her film career, the singer said: I did something special a few days ago that you guys will hear about soon, but I don’t know! I want to do it for a long period time but I not interested in any project right now, I will probably be filming a movie amidst 2015 but I’m not really sure.
After American Horror Story: Freak show was on break, it was left on pause on such an important note. Now we’re only a few days away from American Horror Story's winter session premiere and Miley Cyrus was announced to reveal exciting news about the show and her debut act on the show, indicting that she w will be a guest star on the new winter premiere. A day ago, Glee’s ‘Smiley Miley,’ a tribute episode for Miley Cyrus premiered on FOX, the creator of the show, Ryan Murphy said that he talked Miley into acting again and to guest star on his show, American Horror Story: Freak Show. It was reported that the winter session premiere will come out on Wednesday, January 4, 2015, with, as usual, a two-hour special episode. Today, Jimmy Fallon and the studio audience were treated by an appearance by Miley Cyrus with some news which she revealed later in the show.
Before the show started, Miley was asked if she could share some details on the secret she was keeping and she was reportedly nodded her head and said she was "ecstatic" to announce the secret. When the show started, Miley announced that she will be joining the cast for two episodes as a musical guest and recurring character. Even though everything that went down for the show, like the two episodes' days of filming during November and December went unbothered and everything was kept a secret, Ryan Murphy did announce that a special guest was coming on and that she was pretty popular in the public eye ever since her performance at the VMAs. That's when the media circus happened. It was rumored that Britney Spears or Madonna were going to guest star on the show and the media supported both ideas because both of them have made a name for them in the media department. Little speculation was there for Miley Cyrus to be the star that Ryan Murphy talked about, but nothing was confirmed until now. It was just revealed on the show (Jimmy Fallon) that the show’s premiere is called, “The Eyes Behind The Brain,” and the other called, "When The Eyes Fool The Brain." The early review from most critics had a 4.5/5 star rating and was labeled as a fresh return for Cyrus, calling the appearance "unexpected yet very fitting."
Miley Cyrus said she got Ryhan Murphy's blessing to announce the rules, "I ask him everyday if I can announce the role because I was so excited, honestly. So finally today I get to announce it, Yay!"
It was revealed that Miley appears on Freak Show as Nikole, a recurring character for two episodes in the show, but also as a musical guest. It was revealed that Nikole was a long-lost friend of Elsa's, in the Freak Show that Elsa was apart of when she was touring the world with them. Nikole's disability is that she can hear voices in her head that tell her the truth and what other people are saying in their heads. Her and Elsa were really connected to the hip, until the Freak Show they were apart of broke up. Since then, Nikole (played by Miley), was enlisted into become a music artist, but with the dysfunctions she has, she could not be apart of the music business she was planning to be in. When Elsa invites Nikole to the new freak show, she also becomes a target for Maggie (played by Emma Roberts) and Stanley (played by Dennis O'Hare) , but also tries to home-wreck Maggie's and Jimmy's relationship, which makes her a possible love interest for Jimmy Darling (played by Evan Peters). Miley also revealed that Nikole finds some jealousy building inside her which makes her build an army to ruin Elsa and Elsa's reputation.
Miley also revealed she also joins Elsa on stage for a 1940's-efied version of D.U.I, her latest single from her yet to be announced fifth studio album. (the season’s version of the song will be available once the episode airs on January 7, 2015).
When asked if the character will return after the two episodes, Miley said that "anything can happen, I think the character has more depth that it will show within those two episodes so that's a possibility of a return but I can't confirm anything for you, it's all in the hands of the writers and mainly, Ryan Murphy." "I think listening to Lana Del Rey has helped me with the role, it gave me a really good feeling and just put me in the right mood and you know, made me feel like I was her," Miley said about what helped her with the development of the character, "nonetheless, it was mainly Ryan Murphy's character, he showed it to me and I liked it and we began to work together and make it appropriate for myself."
When asked about her favorite scene that she shot with the Freak Show crew, she giggled a little. She revealed that her favorite scene that she has shot with the crew was probably between kissing Evan in front of Emma or getting bitch-slapped by Jessica. When revealing this, she was asked why and she said, "Well, I always wanted to make a girl jealous by doing something devious, and when I did that, I felt very accomplished. Even though it was just for the show and Emma was fine with it, I felt like I finally made a girl jealous! I know I'm very dorky like that, but I always wanted to do that--but with Jessica, I think it was the most funniest shoot I have done in my life. Like there were some times on Hannah Montana that were funny, but I think Jessica and I had the most fun out of everyone in the whole shoot. I couldn't be serious, and when I started laughing she would start to laugh and at the end of the day, we would have like 90 or more shots of the same scene. It was very funny, but really awesome to work and joke around with a legend like her. She is really down to earth and nice to everyone on set. I wish she was like my mother! Haha, just kidding, mom!" When also asked about the rest of the cast, she was smiling really big. "The cast and crew are really a big family. Like I cannot intrude into that. They are all amazing actors and actresses and they really deserve the success they are getting. They are also really funny and cool, like there was this time when we, Evan, Emma, and Finn played a joke on Sarah and the joke was that we all had to steal something from her dressing rooms and hide it in plain sight on set and whenever she would find it, she would start saying 'who's playing around, I'm gonna get you!' And we would all start cracking up because it was so funny. I had a good time, and I would love to come back sometime next season to play another character or something. We'll see! The atmosphere was very different to Hannah Montana, really, it was. When Hannah Montana first started, we were all coming from other places around the country, but we, eventually, gathered and formed a family together. With American Horror Story, it was so different. Like they were already formed family since 2011, so to walk into already formed family, it was very warming and welcoming, I really admired that.”
She was also asked about the upcoming album she has been working on & her new single DUI and she had to comment this: "Well, with this album, I felt like I was growing up more on the road and being more maturer than I was with Bangerz. I got tired of doing a lot that misunderstood girl of 2k13 stuff. With DUI, I was kinda switching gears with my sound and stuff, but it still had that Miley sound I've been crafting since I was on Hannah Montana. Like I'll still have that girl inside me and she does show up in this album more, but it's time to take control of my career and take it seriously more, you know? During the time I was working around the album, I was so deeply in love with music, the concept, and so I was thinking about how addictive you get when you listen to music, sort of like a drug, and that’s when everything clicked."
Jimmy Fallon: Do you have a release date?
Miley Cyrus: Yes, but not really. We’ve been choosing dates and each day a new plan comes up so, I’m not sure on which we’ll stick to but we’ll see.
Jimmy Fallon: Will you release a second single soon?
Miley Cyrus: Yes, but not until DUI fizzles out, so you guys must wait.
Jimmy Fallon: Will this album be more of what you wanted on Bangerz or?
Miley Cyrus: This album will be less, I don't wanna say messier but, cluttered than how it was on Bangerz, I guess. With Bangerz, I wanted to show off a side I never really shown before to my fans and to the public eye. And with the breakup with Liam, I was more determined than I was before that. I take Bangerz as a transitional album for me. I feel like it was a great album to get my feelings out with the music and not get all serious. With this album, I didn't really know what I was doing when I was working on it. It was just something to do while the tour was going on. It was just something I was playing on with Mike Will. But then, I got a wake up call from everything I was doing from my good friend, Britney Spears. She reached out to me, because it felt like I was going out of control, which I, now, feel like I was. She helped me a lot with becoming in control and helping me cope with a lot of stuff that was going on with my life at the time. She is like a second mom to me and for her to take me in at my time of need is what made me realize what I was doing. She is the main reason why this album actually got a whole vision. I think without her, I would never be the same. You would probably be getting a sequel of Bangerz instead, if she didn't, haha.
Jimmy Fallon: Did she help you a lot of the songs on the album?
Miley Cyrus: When you say it like that, not exactly. but she is obviously a BIG influence on the album. When we first met, we were doing SMS (Bangerz) and she was really sweet to do it with me, but we never spoke again until she reached out when I was hospitalized earlier this year. She first asked me if everything was okay and I told her, 'Yeah, everything's fine, brah, what's up with you?' That's when she took me under her wing and I thank her for that."
Miley Cyrus' new single ‘D.U.I.,’ from her to be announced fifth studio album, is available for purchase now on iTunes, the music video is available for streaming on Youtube. American Horror Story: Freak Show will return debuting Miley Cyrus' role on January 7, 2015.
