This song is the crown jewel of FKA twigs's stunning debut album. What I love about this song is that it has FKA's edge and her unique and weird flavor but still manages to be accessible and very sexy.
I immediately fell in love with this song when I first heard Ghost Stories. It almost bought me to tears. You can feel Chris pain and sadness. Damn you Gwyneth!
But the real star of this song is the instrumental. It's a flawless mix of Coldplay's sound, electronic touches, Davide Rossi's breathtaking strings (he did Viva La Vida) and Timbaland's Hip Hop drum beats.
William Fitzsimmons didn't disappoint me with his new album and he remains one of my favorite solo male artists. Took for me is the highlight of this album. I can play it all day without getting tired of it.
I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of West Coast and I was prepared for not like Ultraviolence but Shades Of Cool restored my faith in Lana and added more. Dan's production is breathtaking and Lana's vocals are one of her best ever. Just beautiful.
U2 saved the best for last as their Songs Of Innocence closes with The Troubles, a duet with Lykke Li. It's hands down my favorite song on the album. The strings, the drums, the guitar when Bono starts singing the verses, Lykke's amazing voice on the chorus, when Bono and Lykke sing together, the flawless lyrics, everything about this song gives me goosebumps. This song is a masterpiece.
