Her sound worked for Pop during her reign, not now. The fact this has risen tremendously in both sales and streaming both times she's promoted shows it had potential to meet her standards to some degree. But, again, not to the full effect because it's obviously not the radio accessible track her style used to bring.
I would call it a hit and respectable performance for a return after so long. Compared to how BDL/Spark the Fire have returned or even how terribly No Doubt did both after long breaks, this is a smash.
