Discussion: Do your local beautystores discriminate against you?

It's not getting shot in the streets while unarmed by police, but do the beauty stores in your country discriminate against you? For example Douglas (high end beauty store) purposely doesn't order the darker shades of high end beauty brands like Dior, Chanel, YSL etc in Germany. Dior Nude goes up to "Dark Brown" but the darkest shade you can buy is "Dark Beige".

Darker ladies can afford to buy high end makeup too. If they say there's not much demand, why not buy a small amount of the darker shades? Is this discrimination?

Not really, most make up companies cater towards white women anyway even though London is a white based country, it's still multicultural.
To buy like skin makeup such as foundation or concealer for myself I have to buy stuff like Mac or Sleek which can be pricy

I don't know. I don't live in Europe, just a theory. If that shade only fits like 1% of the population, then a company sees no reason to put in on the shelves likely, sadly.

And divide the one percent with the percentage that a normal people no matter the colour can afford Dior, Saint Laurent beauty lines and it all goes down to a business calculation. There is no point to say racism. Cuz if there was enough market demand, they would supply immediately. You would be fool to say a business wouldn't want to maximize their profits. Money knows no colour, that's for sure.

Yes, and how do you know that they haven't indeed stocked it before and stopped re-stocking due to the fact it wasn't generating any profit?

Money does know no color, but profit knows what's in. Stores do this all the time. Whether it's shades, sizes, or something simple as colors they don't stock. It's normally a supply and demand case.

Everything isn't immediately racism because it isn't in stock.

Exactly. If this was a more diverse area like NYC then it's an issue and even then that's a stretch because it could be in a majorly white area. Business need money.

I was in The Netherlands, in Rotterdam and in the Netherlands and it was the same thing. And those cities racial make up is very similar to New York City. Not one Douglas store carried the darkest shades. Not a single one. Not even ONE.
