Paige Elliot Announces New Single: "Lights On"; Releases Snippet
After over one year since her last album release, and over six months since her last single (The collaboration effort "Psycho" with long-time friend Taylor Swift), Paige Elliot has finally announced the second single for her upcoming second studio album. With "Psycho" kicking off the era in June and peaking at #2, a giant gap was left between then and now when the second single was finally announced.
Elliot spoke about the single, confirming it to be titled "Lights On", and that it was produced by Greg Kurstin and Dubkiller, along with production from herself, being the first official single released with production from herself. It was also confirmed to have writing credits from Elliot's high-profile friend Taylor Swift and Elliot's sister, Angel Brooklyn. No release date, cover or such information was revealed, though Elliot spoke on the song as follows:
"[Lights On] is another emotional one. I think it's a good follow-up to 'Psycho' because both are about relationships gone wrong. The latter is about a relationship and what's going on in it with two insane people making situations worse for each other. This next one, which I helped produce alongside Greg [Kurstin] and Adam [Dubkiller], is about the aftermath of a relationship you saw so much hope in. Angel [Brooklyn] helped me write part of it, and then when I showed the idea to Taylor [Swift], she added some good parts as well and I stuck with it. The label went mad for it, too, because they think it's fantastic. As for the meaning of the song... It was a twisted love that you knew was going to be a bumpy ride, but that's what you loved about it... But things went south. It ended, and many people have different reactions to the end of this stuff, but this song is about when you sink into a depression. Darkness envelopes you and you find yourself just crying and thinking about how everything went wrong, and the sadness about the end is just so overwhelming and pressing down on you that you feel like your'e suffocating and dying... And then the chorus is begging for it to all end, with the line 'Will someone turn the lights on?', hoping that someone can save you from the darkness, hopelessness and dread that is this post-relationship depression... And I love it so much. Production wise, it's a bit different from stuff I've done, but also very similar to some past stuff. It's also really different, especially in the chorus, for Greg, so that's where Adam and I took over, but it still has a Greg touch to it... You can mostly tell he was in control of the verses, though. It's not hardcore EDM. It's not some electro banger, either. But it's not something entirely new. It's definitely synthpop, Greg guaranteed that, but it's got this ethereal feeling, and the chorus is giant and dubsteppy, but also so light and magical, because as dubstep-like as it is, it's still a rather airy melody rather than the dark stuff I've done with dubstep. I don't know how to properly describe it, you'll have to hear for yourself..."
Shortly after, a 13-second snippet was uploaded to Elliot's official website and YouTube channel, featuring part of the chorus with only the lyrics "Will someone please / Turn the lights on? / Will someone please / Turn the lights on?"
Aside from the statement and given information, nothing else about "Lights On" has been revealed, other than the song was due out between this month and the next (given the description of the YouTube video).
Be sure to buy "Psycho", featuring Taylor Swift, in stores now. Keep a look out for news on "Lights On"!
We ain't talking about that. Ever. I think I deleted all the files from that era, too. As far as the GP is concerned, Paige's last album was 'Celebration'.
f I'll probably really focus on Cara for like 2 more singles, do 2 smaller singles while promoting like a soundtrack song for Charli then do some medium-promotion for a Kerli album/era before doing Cara's third album. I hope the season is really long

Released to Eric Saade’s YouTube Channel and VEVO channel today was the first teaser of new music in almost six months. The first teaser was of a track off of Saade’s upcoming and soon to be titled recorded that was formerly due for a 2014 release but it now set for a late winter to early spring release. After three push backs, this teaser of a yet to be titled track at that time confirms that progress is being made on the album and that it’ll finally be here as on the teaser video it says the month of ‘February’. To talk about the track and reveal a little further about the album and the song, Saade uploaded a short clip to talk about the teaser.
“Hello everyone. I know you all have a lot of questions and I hope that I answer all of them really quickly in about forty-five seconds or so. I’m pretty sure by now you all have heard the little teaser of a song I gave you. That song is called ‘Body Trade’. That was a snippet of the original lead single from the album. So what does that mean? It’s not the lead single anymore. I’ve recorded a much far better single to serve as the lead single than that and it has a little extra special something to go along with it. I won’t reveal too much yet but be patient, alright? The album and single will both be released in February, guaranteed. That is the final released date for it and if things go wrong, I will release it anyway. Promise. Stay tuned guys, it’s going to be an excited 2015. It’s been a year since I’ve gave you guys what you wanted and I think that’s far too long. Happy new year!”
