So in other words, the past. Because hunty was referring to Gaga, means that she thinks that Madonna was the bitter one.

Ever heard of English idiom? Didn't think so. 'Now' can have different meanings, boo. In this case, 'now' is not used in the sense of present time, but it is used to introduce a point. Example: now, this may seem reasonable. Example #2, same context: now, who's laughing. See, no 'before' implied.
