So I was just thinking, I always find it hilarious when I see broken English posts that are shady. The broken English makes it 10x funnier for me, I don't know why I find it so funny but I do .

Now don't get me wrong, I am not trying to be rude or shady towards these members because I realise English isn't the first language of a lot of members. I have lots of respect for them learning a new language. I can only speak one so they're doing much better than me, I couldn't write in their language.

But is it racist to find this funny? .

Not really. I am Hispanic and sometimes I make spelling errors. You can laugh at them if you want.

Nope cuz it has nothing to do with race, it' has to do with level of English education (or just education in general), there are plenty of members here who are from nonenglish speaking countries and are fluent in English. If anything it would be Xenophobic (but it's not).

Just like if I went to Mexico and tried speaking my bare-minimum Spanish, I'm sure people would find it a bit amusing, but that's my own fault that I'm not fluent. In the end of the day it's never really serious

Not racist but rude, I mean unless the person who mocks my accent and grammar mistakes is perfectly fluent in another language, it comes off as stupid to make fun of me for minor mistakes....

Oh no I don't mean people making spelling mistakes in general, I do that too. I'm meaning when someone is deliberately trying to shade or drag an artist, but it's in broken English. It makes the shade/drag 10x funnier to me for some reason.

I would never laugh at someone for posting a general comment or chatting to someone even if it was in broken English, that is rude. I appreciate that they're learning the language .

Its not racist but it is mean. I used to be apart of the Korean Student Association at my university and they would laugh and snicker when I tried to speak Korean, it was really hurtful because I was trying so hard. It probably makes the person feel like **** so dont do it, you wouldnt want them to laugh when you speak their language

Nah, I'm pretty sure a lot of the Spanish-speaking co-workers where I work have a good laugh when I mangle their language.

I think no matter how much you respect others for learning your language, there is still bound to be a mistake in their wording that's just too unintentionally hilarious to ignore.

English isn't a race... I would think its funny just like I'm sure a japanese person would think my broken japanese is funny. If you feel offended by that then learn the language better
