Please point out where I backtracked. I'll wait.

My whole stance on every Rita vs. Calvin thread since the beginning has been the same. Rita has a fine voice and she seems like a nice enough girl in interviews, but people need to stop acting like Calvin is Satan here. There are always two sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle, but I highly doubt he would stop her from using the song if she hadn't done something real messed up to him during the breakup. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.
Either way, idgaf what the reason for their breakup was or who was the agressor. The point is that Rita and her label didn't secure the necessary rights to allow her to use the song free of Calvin's input, like they
should have. Otherwise, this wouldn't even be an issue because Calvin wouldn't have the legal capacity to block her from performing the song. At the end of the day, if Rita had actually contributed to the writing/production process herself then this wouldn't be an issue because they would both own legal rights to the song.
That's not the case though. So stop acting like Calvin is some demon for taking back control over his hard work. He was not wrong. Petty? Sure, maybe. But wrong, no. Also, Calvin had nothing to do with Rita's album being scrapped. He had like what? Two, maybe three songs on her album? You all should be coming for Rita's label if anything.
