I wasn't born during the Music Box era and Mariah's slayage but Hero and Without You are classic and still remembered after all these years while what ADELE did was very impressive considering the how it is hard to sell that many albums nowadays. Both eras were huge but it's hard to judge as of now. For us, it's gonna be 21 because we lived it. I'd like to see those who've lived during the Music Bow era's answers.

We don't need anyone's opinion when the receipts are there. 21 truly is the biggest album by a female of all time if you adjust the climate.

The fact is that 21 was bigger with more memorable singles.
21. It was a Phenomenon. Adele outdid all of her Peers by Miles, while Mariah even in the 90s had strong Competition (Madonna, Whitney, Celine, Shania, Alanis). All of them had massive Eras, while 21 was and is in a league of its own. Before you try: I'm in my 30s.
Music Box didn't win any Grammys (and deservingly so), only produced one global hit which was a cover, only sold 5 million more than 21 in a much better climate, etc.
No one remembers that MOR '90s schlock. You didn't have to be around to compare the stats or FACTS.
Music Box sold 20-23 million copies OUTSIDE of the US compared to 21's 15 million sold outside of the US.
