I think the acclaim is mostly from her not taking the opportunity to capitalize on Born To Die's success by creating a generic album/one similar to Born To Die, but coming out with something unexpected

It has her best song ever, Cruel World, and has her best single, West Coast. Ride is still her best music video ever and kinda her pinnacle but still. Could listen to Ultraviolence all the time. Have to be in the right kind of mood for Born to Die. Paradise is it's own beast.
