Starting off the top 10 is Clean Bandit's "New Eyes". I have been more than surprised by this album,it is a breath of fresh air and there is nothing out there quite like Clean Bandit they have a great way of making each track quite different and all are unique and slick the vocals are brilliant all in all a great CD

I believe this band is cruising a parallel course to Bastille's rise in England. Maroon5, Train, Keane, or Coldplay would be the right demographic perhaps, but this album fully outshadows that market. It's such a fusion of elements from rock, pop, country and good ole folk music, it's undefinable; like everything and like nothing else. Other than that, it's just fun!.

Out of curiosity ,I checked out her new album since it was the only best selling album of 2014.There are two main differences between “Red” and “1989” and the first is the use of a lot more synthesizers and a lot less guitars across the board, which makes sense considering Taylor has said her inspiration for the album was a lot of 1980’s pop music .The second main difference is Taylor’s songwriting has continued to evolve and while she is still telling us her stories she’s doing so more efficiently with a vast majority of the tracks coming in at under 4 minutes.

Excellently produced album with a nice blend of acoustic and electronica. The vocals fit the music so well. Makes me feel like it's the 80's again.

Cristina Perri released a new album this year titled "Head or Heart". This CD has grown on me. At first I only had a handful of songs I liked, but after listening to it a few times it's become a favorite. It is a bit different from her first. But Christina Perri always tells the truth through her songs. She's honest. And she has a great voice.

The third bonus album is Michael Jackson's "Xacape" album. I really like the album even the re-mastered or as I like to call them"remixed" ones.I feel that they really gave it something Michael would truly do with today's sound and music.

Starting off the top 05 is "Queen Of The Clouds from Tove Lo. This one of the best pop albums of 2014. I love the concept of this album.The first part , THE SEX, is about the passion and the sexual aspect of the relationship. The second one, THE LOVE, is about the love in the relationship. And the last one, THE PAIN, is about the pain that follows every break up and the consequences of a relationship. It's almost like a novel, and the themes and the mood of the songs change adequately, but she still stays faithful to her original style. She's honest in her lyrics and her feelings. Very creative.

.Wonderful album. The songs work better together, but stand alone flawlessly as well. A mix of moving lyrics, fun upbeat tunes, and Irish influences all around. This album also grows on you more and more with each listen

Foster The People retured in 2014 with their follow-up. "Supermodel" is a wonderful album from start to finish. It's addictive and for lack of a better word feels exotic too. There are more medium -,slow tempo songs than on Torches but what they lack in speed they make up for in melody, instrumentation, vocals and lyrics.

The runner-up album of 2014 if Neon Trees' "Pop Psychology". Another fun album of songs from Neon Trees. This album took longer to grow on me than the first two did, but now I often wake up with one of the songs in my head.

For me, the # 1 album of 2014 is Sia's "1000 Forms Of Fear". This is my favorite album of the year. Her voice is captivating, with raw emotion that is sometimes full of hope, pain, despair, love, longing and fear. The feelings that she envelopes the listener in are awe-inspiring in the sense that her music can make my heart swell, my eyes mist and my brain race with a plethora of ideas.1"000 Forms of Fear" just hit all of the right emotional notes, her lyrics conjure up events in one's own life and I must say, Sia deserves a standing ovation and a Grammy.

Bonus

The fourth and final bonus album is "GIRL from Pharrell Williams. I was pleasantly surprised by this album.There isn't ONE song on the album I don't like. The album only features 10 tracks but they all fit perfectly with the theme of the album, which means no fillers!
