Of course looking from a rational standpoint it's all not acceptable, but why is racism against Asians less off limits? Especially comedic racism. For instance, Ja'mie Private School girl would have never seen the light of day if Ja'mie said she hated any other race. It's like people are less afraid to be racist against Asians because they know there wIll be little repercussions. Hell, even Azealia makes racist jokes against them.

Please don't say it's because Asians have gone through less racism in America when internment camps and atomic bombings against Asian people have happened in the last century. But for some reason we put emphasis on the brutalities against other races. I don't get it.

Asians are often overlooked because they haven't had prominent places in our history compared to other races in America.

It's just in America - there's more black people hence you hear and experience greater scope of racism for that minority group.

Same way you hear so much about feminists issues. Because the social group they target is the biggest minority (half the population).

None of them are treated more or less, it's just how often you hear about it that shapes what you think is the main issues and the less important issues.

Well if we're just talking about America, Asians are the lowest minority population and are underrepresented so at times people tend to overlook them in terms of equality. Idk about outside the US tho.

It's not. Asians are one of the most discriminated against populations here, yet they still come out on top in every positive statistics (education, income etc.). I respect them a lot for their hard work

I live in a super Asian area and still don't hear ****. People make racist jokes about Asians here and it's just ok for some reason. Asian people here don't even seem slightly moved by it.

This is the case on ATRL. Something about the N word pops up and everyone attacks whoever did it. When a thread about a Chinese person or Karrueche comes up, everyone starts making jokes about eating dogs and making offensive mispelled nicknames. As an asian I find it very offensive

Don't get me wrong...I AM ASIAN! But I remember a thread a while ago saying how Indian Americans have the highest average income.

Asians, whilst like any minority, experience the 'words' you say, they aren't as systematically disadvantaged as females or blacks etc.

I'm not saying there is NO racism and everything is perfect, Far from it. I just don't think it's underplayed. Every issue is just as important as the other when it comes to race in terms of words, but the overreaching affects of how certain groups are viewed, how the rest of society interact and integrate them means there just has to be, unfortunately, priorities when tackling racism, whether it be through media coverage or welfarism etc.

all racism / oppression in general is equally terrible. it shouldnt be a competition to see who can be the most oppressed.

It's not ok but it's probably b/c Asians are succeeding in America/Canada.

Doctors, engineers, computer programers, etc are all becoming Asian dominated and those professions are where the money (and therefore power and status) is.

Black and Hispanic people in general are facing alot more poverty. And they also have larger populations, so you hear about it more.

So many ATRLers mock my name Priyanka Chopra all the time before I report them or point out their hypocrisy for complaining about racism when they're racist themselves. I was surprised that most of them were black or other minorities.

When a thread was made about Missy Elliott mocking the way Chinese people speak their language everyone laughed and said it wasn't racist.

When someone makes a thread about an East Asian man like Lorde's boyfriend, you're asking for trouble.

People drool over anti-Asian racists like Mark Wahlberg. If he attacked a black man, he would be blacklisted.

And I'm the only one arguing with these racists.
