Prior to 1989 being released I had a mere 20-ish Taylor plays on my LastFM from jamming out to Love Story. I of course knew of You Belong With Me and the Red singles too. Although I used to listen to them on youtube. 1989 got released and due the buzz surrounding it and Ms Swift in general I knew I just had to purchase it. I fell in love with 1989 straight away and the whole sound she had brought with it. I knew for sure it was a game changer.
From this point on my Taylor addiction developed and now today, she's reached 1500 plays on my LastFM. Also I've now purchased her entire discography and have completely fallen in love with her and her music. I guess y'all can call me a Swiftie now. <3
Finally, I'd just like to say that New Romantics is possibly the best pop song I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. I really do adore it. <3
Lemme just say her vocals have been an absolute mess this era. She's delivered literally no good vocal performance this era. The good sis needs:
a) vocal rest
b) vocal training.
And she's been miming a lot this era and heavily relying on her background vocalists. Her voice also lost a lot of its weight, and just sounds very lacking in resonance more than ever before. I'm watching her Z100 Jingle Ball performances, and omg, the vocals are a MESS.
