FROST'S BEST OF 2014 | UPDATE #6
|
# 19 | McBusted - "McBusted"
As far as I am aware McBusted are a temporary project made up of the members from Busted and McFly. This album features some old material that has been resurrected by the joint band. Their material might sound as if they are still living in their teenage heads, however they have still executed really well. It is a perfect pop/rock and punk album with a lot of parody within some of their songs.
BEST TRACKS: What Happened To Your Band, I See Red, How's My Hair, Riding on My Bike
WORST TRACKS: Hate Your Guts, Beautiful Girls Are the Loneliest |

# 18 | MAGIC POWER - "Fighting For Love"
This C-pop EDM group are phenomenal! Their music is easier to listen to than other C-pop artists. They follow the mid decade sound of EDM beats but incorporate their own elements in their music. This album ranges from diverse dance tracks featuring some alternative sounds as well as hip-hop and rock and there are some beautifully composed ballads too. Their diversity shows just how C-pop music can indeed be original and exciting.
BEST TRACKS: Gorilla, Tou Tou De, Kong Zhong Fei Ren, Rock Zombie
WORST TRACKS: Wei Na Si |

# 17 | JYJ - "JUST US"
This album is worth the purchase just for "Dear J", the solo track by Jaejoong. It's a perfect track which is rooted to his style of rock he executes perfectly. But the whole album is perfection. It's mostly ballads and mid-tempo tracks which I prefer if they aren't a bore-fest. Their vocals are so so strong. This is definitely one powerhouse album <333
BEST TRACKS: DEAR J, CREATION, Back Seat, Dad, You There?, Letting Go
WORST TRACKS: Badoboy, VALENTINE |

ARIANA GRANDE
I became a fan of Ariana Grande after her release of “Problem” and have continued to indulge in her music following the release of “Break Free” and her album “My Everything”. I love that there is a sense of innocence about her which is conveyed in her image and her vocals. Her album is fantastic as it teaches listeners she could be quite a diverse artist if she wants to be. However this isn’t overdone as it is mostly light RnB. I am sure she'll stay on the pop radar in 2015 to deliver more fantastic music. |
| BEAST
Within the boy group hierarchy in K-pop, for me, Beast are one of the groups standing on top. They rarely disappoint me with their releases and therefore every comeback they make is extremely exciting. They are an extremely talented group with great looks, nice dancing skills and they all have great personalities. Fiction and Fact remains their best work yet, however their release of Good Luck and Time this year have been great. They never have to up their game because everything they do just seems to come across effortlessly. |
#50 | 2NE1 - "Come Back Home" - One of their best tracks ever. All four girls sing this song with emotion and passion.
#49 | Little Mix - "Salute" -Sounds Destiny Child inspired, but Little Mix have put their own little twist on the track. Perfect pop song and I was glad it was chosen as their third single.
#48 | Katy B - "Crying For No Reason" - This song is so beautiful in lyrics, production and vocals. The build-up progresses and the final part of the song blossoms into some so amazing.
#47 | HA:TFELT - "Ain't Nobody"- Yeeun has powerhouse vocals in this song. It's really beautiful. This song pretty much came out the blue, but instantly became on of my favorites.
#46 | Berry Good - "Love Letter" - A rookie girl group that debuted this year. They haven't gained much popularity at the moment. But this song is so bubbly and happy and had to make my top 50
#45 | AAA - "Wake Up!" - AAA's songs normally chart higher, while this song is a great upbeat, happy-go-jolly track it's a step down from their string of singles last year.
#44 | Becky G - "Shower" - One of my biggest guilty pleasures of 2014. It'sa track that will never get old. It's so easy to sing along too.
#43 | AOA - "Like A Cat" - The whole concept to this release was done so originally. It's a slick and sexy track and AOA's vocal style is revealed so uniquely in this song.
#42 | Natalia Kills - "Trouble" - Natalia's final single from her second album. It's a great pop track with rock influences. Natalia's sings this song packed with emotion and passion. Both her, her album and this track is disgustingly underrated.
#41 | Sigma - "Nobody To Love" - I want to dance to this track and cry at the same time . It's repetitive but this song can get away with. One of the best dance tracks this year. |
