Virgin Atlantic's plane landing gear fails, lands safely.
Quote:
A Virgin Atlantic plane appears to have landed safely after a "non standard landing" at Gatwick Airport.
The Boeing 747 jumbo had a "technical issue with one of the landing gears", said a Virgin statement.
The plane was in a holding pattern near Newhaven but is now back at the airport.
Experts have told Sky News the flight may have been dumping fuel and photos appeared to show one of the sets of wheels not fully down.
"The lighter the aircraft is the slower it can land," said air traffic control expert Philip Butterworth-Hayes.
Flight VS43 took off at 11.44am from Gatwick and was heading to Las Vegas.

I am praying everyone lands safely. This also happened in Poland a couple years ago and thanks to the pilot, they landed just fine. Hope this turns out the same way.
