Buffy Season 1 would have never survived in today's society

This scene is gripping and immersive. Perfect use of music, good editing, beautiful cinematography. I even included a part of the script in an university paper, at the time!

I really liked the depth of The Air I Breath (the effects we have on people are passed on other people we never think about), how each characters embody one specific emotion and how they're all interconnected.

unfortunately that's true. but if you watch buffy's first season now it's still so damn fresh and innovative (TO THIS DAY) for the little no-budget they had to make it. no show these days really feels this way and has that WOW effect. buffy had that already with its first season. it was critically acclaimed, too. but i guess if it was released today, the fact that it's a midseason replacement wouldn't have made networks turn it into a full-fledged show. they wouldn't have given it a second thought.

so glad this was a 90s show tho

never when it was on the air, but a couple of years ago i sat down to watch a couple of eps and some youtube compilation that had all her scenes. i can see how people were infatuated with her and she won the emmy rightly so, but i'm glad she could show more and real depth with buffy.

Season 1 remains one of my favourite. The mixing of different genre and the chemistry between the main cast. It has that special charm that put the show in his own sphere and it's always a pleasant trip back in time to revisit those episodes.

and the dialogue already knocks it out of the park... and since i'm a huge horror fan, the b-horror movie vibe and charm about season 1 is what draws me back in every time. it's gritty, it's dark, but also the 90s nostalgia are amazing things. and i loved that they didn't reboot anything with a second season but kept moving forward and depicted how screwed up buffy has become after what has happened to her in prophecy girl...
