Love your list!
Omg, you need to listen to more of Paloma's discography. I would start with Leave While I'm Not Looking, it is written by the same person as Only Love Can Hurt Like This. Her whole discography is great though!

Welcome to Josh's Best of 2014!
For the 2nd straight year, sorry for the crappy banner. Been very busy.
150-136
 | 150. Michael Jackson & Justin Timberlake - Love Never Felt So Good
(8 Weeks/Peak:12) | [30-26-22-19-15-12-15-23-34] | (MJ: 1 of 1, JT: 1 of 2)
It's been 5 years since MJ has passed but his memory undoubtedly still lives on. This song shows just how much of a legend he still is. It was a bop when it was released and although it lost its charm to me now, it still kinda gets me grooving when I hear it. | | 149. Fall Out Boy - Death Valley (6 Weeks/Peak:17) | [23-19-17-21-23-26-33-38] | (1 of 3)
I kinda lost track of the SRNR era and the Youngblood Chronicles series tbh when they started releasing videos during my busy schedules that I didn't realize it was already finished and that half of the songs I missed already had videos. Anyway, this was one of the best in the album but by the time the video got released I was kinda over it already. | | 148. Lorde - Royals (3 Weeks/Peak:08) | [8-8-14] | (1 of 3)
The only reason this song is still here is the fact that it was the first hall of famer of 2014 in my countdown. But still, it still got enough plays in my library during the year for it to stay here. | | 147. 30 Seconds to Mars - City of Angels (2 Weeks/Peak:29) | [29-32-36-37-30-38] | (1 of 1)
How does this song go again? Srsly, it may be one of the most forgettable songs (at least for me) here. But despite that, it's a really good song with good lyrics and a very nostalgic feel which makes me pretty homesick when I hear it in the city away from home. | | 146. The Neighbourhood - Afraid (4 Weeks/Peak:28) | [30-29-29-28-39] | (1 of 2)
I've been listening to this song ever since I got it but not until Sweater Weather got huge that I started to really enjoy this one, too. It's just a simple song tbh, but it haunts me, in a good way. | | 145. Katy Perry - Birthday (2 Weeks/Peak:25) | [33-25-27-31-38-38] | (3 of 5)
We haven't even reached the top 140 and Katy only has two entries left. Anyway, this era was more or less her most disappointing one yet but it actually started off great, then she released this and TIHWD and it all went downhill. The concept of the video is a guilty pleasure of mine tho. | | 144. Demi Lovato f/ Cher Lloyd - Really Don't Care (2 Weeks/Peak:26) | [37-28-26-39] | (Demi: 2 of 4, Cher: 1 of 1)
I was happy when they released the song since I really liked it as an album track. But somehow, when it got released and was everywhere, I got annoyed by it. I would've ranked ti lower but I used to like it before and I can't just ignore that. | | 143. Nicki Minaj - Pills N Potions (4 Weeks/Peak:20) | [40-37-27-22-20-26]|(1 of 2)
This song deserved better. It may not be a good choice for a lead single but it's definitely a good song. It's so emotional and un-Nicki-ish. I mean I like her as is. I like (some of) her upbeat songs but songs like these really make me love her more. | | 142. One Direction - Steal My Girl (5 Weeks/Peak:14) | [38-33-24-20-18-14-17-xx] | (2 of 4)
Oh how One Direction disappointed me soooo much this year. Their releases this year have been pretty meh and their singles off FOUR so far are meh as well. This one actually took me a while to get into. But anyway, I FINALLY gave FOUR a chance and it's actually better than MM! Proof that you should not judge an album by its singles. | | 141. Taylor Swift - Out Of The Woods (---/---) | (1 of 4)
The Queen's first appearance in this year's chart!!!! Yes, this is not an official single, but it was a promo single and 3 songs from her in the yearend chart of what could be her best year so far feels kinda small. Anyway, this is one of the highlights of 1989 and a last minute addition to the list. There will be more Taylor to come in here tho so watch out. | | 140. Ed Sheeran - One (2 Weeks/Peak:26) | [32-27-26-34-34] | (1 of 6)
Back-to-back promo singles from two of my favorite artists ever!!!! Now I was soooo happy that this one was released for promo because this one was the reason why I was convinced to listen to the album in full, and it changed my life since. Anyway, this is also one of the highlights of X and like Tay, there will also be more of Ed to come. | | 139. Beyonce - Pretty Hurts (2 Weeks/Peak:29) | [37-30-33-32-32-29] | (1 of 3)
Bey's first entry in the chart. I don't get why this isn't as big as Beyonce's other singles. I mean this is a beautiful song and a beautiful record. It probably tanked in my chart but it honestly deserved better especially among her fan base. | | 138. 5 Seconds of Summer - Good Girls (7 Weeks/Peak:22) | [39-30-28-22-23-26-26-25] | (1 of 4)
This is the set with most first entries from big artists in my countdown, Lorde, Tay, Ed, Bey, and now, 5SOS. Anyway, this song is basic but soooooo catchy. I can't help but sing the chorus everytime! | | 137. Owl City f/ Lindsey Stirling - Beautiful Times (10 Weeks/Peak:16) | [30-25-30-27-34-NRx5-35-29-25-20-18-16-22-31] | (2 of 2 for both)
Ahhh, the nostalgia I used to get from this song is just It's just so haunting and beautiful and, yes, again, nostalgic. It lost its charm for quite a while but I'm starting to re-like it now. | | 136. New Politics - Harlem (2 Weeks/Peak:12) | [12-16-31] | (1 of 2)
*insert reason why I like this song* Sorry I'm just so happy right now and I don't wanna mess up my head by thinking of reasons why I like this song because I just can't explain. I just really really like this song and I'm glad I did because New Politics is really good. |

180-166: Money On My Mind could have been a better song if not for the unbearable chorus. On My Way is miles better than Cannonball so I'm glad the superior song is higher. I almost forgot that Lily made a cover of Somewhere Only We Know this year.

165-151: Sex is awesome, the song. Only Love Can Hurt Like This is really a wonderful ballad. I'm kinda regretting now that I've paid it dust before. Stolen Dance is a grower though, you might not like it at first but it'll eventually make its way to your ears and enjoy it. No Good In Goodbye has a good music video but I was really hoping for Man On A Wire to be their follow up to Superheroes. I guess it can wait as a third single. Love Me Harder is Ariana's best song to date so I still somehow wish it was higher. Been a while since I last heard from Walk the Moon, so I'm glad they made a comeback this year with a catchy bop like Shut Up And Dance. Bastille could never do wrong. Flaws is great. I Wish I Could Break Your Heart is one of my favorite country songs this year. Who You Love, this is way up high on my list. This is How We Do deservedso that spot. Jealous is a catchy pop/rnb track. Extraordinary is almost as good as Rather Be.

150-136: Love Never Felt So Good actually sounds like an MJ classic already. Royals still charted. Amaze-balls! Afraid's chorus really got me. Birthday was a great album track but I guess the music video really killed the momentum of the song. Really Don't Care's music video has a pretty good message though, I'll give Demi that. Pills N Potions is actually the most decent song Nicki has released so far. Steal My Girl was a very underwhelming first single, true. Out of the Woods, I think I might have overplayed that one when it came out, I couldn't stand that song anymore. Too bad, One was just a promo single. It deserves more than that. Good Girls' chorus may be catchy but that's still their worst song.
