I completely agree! Every time people mention Madonna performing Express Yourself/Born This Way on tour as a drag, I always think 'how many artists can say that Madonna actually covered their song?' Plus, she didn't actually call Lady Gaga "Reductive".

It's all about marketing and Madonna knows that a feud between two big artist can give her the spotlight.
She has done this with Janet, Mariah and even Gwen.

She doesn't, though - she gets attention effortlessly whereas Gaga has to use crazy outfits to get people to talk about her. Remember @ the Oscars when no-one cared about her? Not to mention this was a demo that leaked, she didn't release it herself. If Gaga's better than Madonna, then why does she only have 1 solid release out of 4 whereas all of Madonna's first 4 releases achieved success and acclaim?
