Hundreds of police officers turned their backs on a screen showing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as he spoke at the funeral of one of two officers killed last week in what has been called an "assassination."
A block from the church, though, retired NYPD Officer John Mangan held a sign that read: "God Bless the NYPD. Dump de Blasio."
The mayor, whose wife is black, said he has spoken to his mixed race teen son about how he should act if he is stopped by police.
In speaking about protesters who were arrested and charged with assaulting police during a demonstration in New York, de Blasio used the word "allegedly," which some in the NYPD seemed to take as a slight.
Patrolmens Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch and de Blasio have been locked in a public battle over treatment of officers following the grand jury's decision.

What exactly are all these police officers standing in "solidarity" against? Ok the officers were innocent and killed and that is horrible and a tragedy but what is all this hoopla for? It bothers me that they are trying to make those who are against police brutality feel like we are to blame. #BlackLivesMatter movement is not to blame for these deaths........it's disgusting how they are all banding together against THE MAYOR for saying such a simple thing. Smh

NYC is heading down a dark road just like I predicted. He really needs to fire that Police commissioner though. I don't know if they are still in the process of change down at NYPD but **** has gotten worse since Kelly left and Bratton returned.
