100-91: Problem, Chandelier (thank you for saying that this is immensely overrated here. ), Let Go For Tonight, Tennis Court, Lips Are Movin, Cool Kids, Team
90-81: Find You, Jukebox, Hurricane and Really Don't Care
The Valentine's Day song from Austin Mahone this year. I thought it was really nice and cute. Some corny lyrics though during his rap verse, which is why it's getting the axe at #80.
First of three appearances by Austin Mahone
79. Jena Irene - We Are One
American Idol was a friggin' joke this year. How America voted for that outdated arrogant rocker Caleb Johnson is beyond me. Jena was actually marketable. I mean, the fact that she performed with Paramore on the finale while Caleb Johnson performed with Kiss just says it all. This song was also the superior and would have actually charted on the Hot 100, based on how it was doing on iTunes. I hope Jena finds, somewhat better success than Caleb. Interscope paid him dust and rightfully so.
Only appearance by Jena Irene
78. Fifth Harmony - Sledgehammer
This song is miles better than BO$$. The chorus is slightly better, although still a bit repetitive. The production is good, and for a pop song, I think this song will age better with me than Miss Movin' On has. It's been one year since they released that and it honestly has not aged well. Sledgehammer has a better shot at being played when it goes recurrent.
Final appearance of Fifth Harmony
77. Sick Individuals - Lights of Neon
There were times during the year where I browsed the EDM and Dance sections of iTunes, because the pop section bored. I discovered this song and I thought the beat was sick. But of course, a dance song with no lyrics can only go so far on the countdown.
Only appearance by Sick Individuals
76. Cash Cash - Surrender
Coming off the heals of Take Me Home, this song kind of pailed in comparison, but this song is still good.
One of two appearances by Cash Cash
75. Melanie Martinez - Carousel
Melanie wasn't my favorite on her season of The Voice, but she certainly has created some good tunes. I was hooked as soon as the Paris atmosphere kicked off the song
Only appearance by Melanie Martinez
74. Havana Brown - Whatever We Want
Havana is by far my favorite dance act right now along with Cascada. This song is a bop, but when there are so many songs out there that pretty much say the same thing in their songs, this song is far inferior to some of those songs.
One of three appearances by Havana Brown!
73. Sia - Big Girls Cry
Sia bows out with this song. It's a really nice radio friendly pop ballad that I think every girl can relate to. It allows the listeners to show their vulnerable side and admit that they cry. By far, a much better song than Chandelier
Final appearance of Sia
72. Icona Pop - Just Another Night
This is the closest Icona Pop came to showing a side outside of partying, but it still had that one dimensional thing about them. As much as I liked their album, I would have to be in the partying mood to listen to it in its entirety. This song was one of my favorites off it though
Only appearance by Icona Pop
71. Krewella - Enjoy the Ride
More than likely, this is Krewella's last single under the original group, since the girls were stupid enough to kick out the dude just because he didn't party all the time. Honestly, it made me lose respect for them. They need to realize that not everything about life is about partying. That's one of the reasons I liked this song, because it had a low-key message about enjoying your life as it goes, regardless of what happens. I guess it was in a way, a nice goodbye single.
