which was bigger? the HSM franchise or the Frozen franchise?

Frozen has been much bigger.

I would think Frozen because it appeals to almost any age where as HSM was just mainly just teens.

Frozen. For some reason, it doesn't feel like a flash-in-the-pan thing like HSM did. I can see Elsa being as legendary as Cinderella and Snow White, unfortunately.

HSM was a phenomenon, not another successful Disney animated movie.
Call me when Frozen will sell 20 million albums and will leave its mark on a whole generation.

Ther first HSM soundtrack sold 10M copies.

The second one sold 6/7M and the third one between 3 and 4 million copies. Do you think Frozen will be able to top that? I don't.

it sold like over 6 million in 2014 the worst year in industry ever. Like it's quite obvious if it was released when sales were decent it would have stomped HSM consider that already outsold two of it's soundtracks.

10M remains a bigger number.

I'm not denying Frozen's huge success at all but it's not coming close to the HSM franchise, like at all. HSM was simply everywhere and lasted for 3-4 years.

Frozen soundtrack has already sold more than 6 million copies (in 2014) and still selling. It's also the best selling album of the year. If it had been released in 2006 it would have outsold HSM soundtrack with ease.

Frozen's WW IMPACT is huge. It's not just "another successful Disney animated movie."
