That is my favorite Katy song + video. I used to stan (before I knew what that word was) SO hard for Katy back then. I was like I love this woman so much. Oh how she changed. Her music was so much better.

Any specific suggestions? Tho I'm more on the experimental side, I put FKA Twigs, Purity Ring and Tinashe on there for example.

That song is the one and only thing I'll ever defend for her. I've been exactly through what she wrote about and it's like she perfectly hit the nail on the head while also crafting a great pop-ballad melody.

Man I used to get teary-eyed listening to this song before I even knew what love felt like.

Brandy's "Can You Hear Me Now" isn't old school, but I find it really sexy. It's kinda experimental, I guess. The whole album pretty much.

Experimental old school R&B? Try Aaliyah's One In A Million album. It sounds basically like Tinashe's and has some bops.

TOY is boring mediocrity. She's topped it in more ways than I can imagine.

Too R&B tho its a bop! Need cuddle/sex hybrid not just dicking music.

TOY is more organic, but that doesn't make it better imo.
