Sure... Taking the spot that she vacated 8 years ago. Rihanna is too far away in success and status for Tinashe to catch up quickly. She's at the place now where Rihanna was in her Pon de Replay days.
I hate questions like this because they never make sense you'd have to compare acts that are in a similar position in career.
The best answer to the OP's question is this: Tinashe is capable of being in the same place in her career 9 years from now that Rihanna is at now with continued hard work and more great material released frequently, as Rihanna had to do at the start of her career. Aquarius is a fantastic start and I only see her getting better with label support.
Ariana is more of a Rihanna type (or at least early Rihanna), but with stronger, albeit mumbled, vocals. I can already see Ari co-opting the yearly release strategy.
