Excuse me? How was Shakira annoying in The Voice? I am really sad that 'Empire' is charting this low being so amazing. The same applies to On My Way

I can't fathom the possibility of anyone outright HATING "Up We Go". How could anyone hate such a happy song? "Jealous", well, of course, that song's great. But the "Somewhere Only We Know" cover...I'm glad someone brought it up this year, because it's still just as great as it was last year. I'm not sure if I'm ready to say that it's better than the original, but it's up there.

I don't know about filipino music but I'm willing to learn
Hold On and Whispers
Yasss Ed winning and AOM is a great winner aswell.
For the next set I think Say Something and Find You would be nice.

 | 165. The 1975 - Sex (5 Weeks/Peak:24) | [29-24-24-28-24-33-34-37] | (1 of 6)
Probably my favorite discoveries this year is this band. They have such a unique sound that makes them different from the rest of the bands and when you finally decipher what Matty's trying to say, you realize that their lyrics are brilliant as well. Sex may be weak compared to their previous singles but it's still proof of their awesomeness and there will definitely be more to come. | | 164. John Legend - You & I (6 Weeks/Peak:19) | [35-29-25-24-24-23-19-32] | (1 of 2)
John Legend started the year pretty great with the colossal hit that was All of Me, and just as he was on his way back up, he went back down pretty quickly as well. You And I is a cute and cheesy song, just as cheesy as All of Me is tbh, but with the hype that AOM gave, it did not meet certain expectations, sadly. | | 163. Paloma Faith - Only Love Can Hurt Like This (6 Weeks/Peak:19) | [34-29-24-19-19-20-25-31] | (1 of 1)
Paloma Faith was an interesting discovery this year. I honestly haven't heard of her before this song. Anyway, I don't know why I love this song, I just do. Maybe it's because of the lyrics, or the song itself, or the topic of the song which I can relate to. I'd be interested to hear more from this girl. | | 162. Milky Chance - Stolen Dance (1 Week/Peak:29) | [38-33-39-37-29-31-34] | (1 of 1)
I don't know what to say about this song but I will say this, I don't get the extreme love for it tbh. I mean don't get me wrong. I, too, love it! I think it has this relaxing ambiance to it, but idk. It just doesn't standout for me. | | 161. The Script - No Good In Goodbye (1 Week/Peak:23) | [23] | (1 of 2)
The Script has never failed to produce good songs, and NGIG is one of them. The thing that got me most into this song would have to be the clever wordplay. It is probably my second favorite off No Sound Without Silence which didn't disappoint unlike most albums this year. This song had just entered my charts tho so who knows what it can bring to yearend 2015. | | 160. Ariana Grande - Love Me Harder (3 Weeks/Peak:21)|[36-30-23-21-xx]|(Ari: 1 of 4, Weeknd: 1 of 1)
First appearance of Ariana on the list. I'm one of the very few people who actually prefer the Yours Truly era over the My Everything era. This song is part of my trinity from the album, tho, and I know I'm going to regret placing this low. Just know that I prefer this song soooo much than her other singles, it was just too new to be placed higher. | | 159. Walk The Moon - Shut Up And Dance (3 Weeks/Peak:19) | [40-28-21-19-xx] | (1 of 1)
Another one of my favorite dicoveries this year. But as with the case of Love Me Harder, this song is just soooooo good, but it's too new to be placed higher. Although there are new releases that will be ranked significantly higher, sadly, this song ain't one. Remind me to place this in the top 100 next year where it belongs please. | | 158. Bastille - Flaws (2 Weeks/Peak:22) | [33-27-22-xx]|(1 of 3)
First of 3 Bastille songs. When I first heard this, I didn't really like it. Especially after Pompeii's effect on me. It took me quite some time to get into, but when I did, I just can't stop singing along. That's why it has a bad chart run so far. It'll probably be in 2015's yearend tho. Probably. | | 157. Train - Angel In Blue Jeans (---/Peak:34) | [37-34-38-34-34-39-40] | (1 of 1)
7 Weeks in the on deck and not once did it exceed #34. I stand by my decision, this is their weakest first single to date. But I had to place this higher because it's the only single so far off Bulletproof Picasso, which is shockingly a good album, and it just had to be represented. | | 156. Aloe Blacc - The Man (5 Weeks/Peak:18) | [27-19-18-18-26-37]| (1 of 1)
The voice behind Avicii's Wake Me Up is back with this feel good anthem. This song is very uplifting and definitely sets you in the mood. | | 155. Cassadee Pope - I Wish I Could Break Your Heart (5 Weeks/Peak:25) | [31-30-27-28-28-25-32-39] | (1 of 1)
Not much to say about this song. I love it definitely, but not that much to include it in the top 150 which is already full of songs that I love more than this. She's so beautiful in the video tho | | 154. John Mayer & Katy Perry - Who You Love (5 Weeks/Peak:13) | [16-14-13-26-40] | (John: 1 of 1, Katy: 1 of 5)
This song had a great start on my countdown early 2014. Sadly, it went back down just as fast as it went up. It's a cute song tho, for both of them. | | 153. Nick Jonas - Jealous (5 Weeks/Peak:16) | [40-37-28-24-23-17-16] | (1 of 2)
It's shocking to see his transformation from good boy to sex icon, and it's pretty evident in his music too. As for now, I don't know if I like him better as a Jonas Brother or as a solo artist. But Jealous is a good song, and NJ is a good album. There's one song from him left and I have a pretty lengthy discussion about it. | | 152. Katy Perry - This Is How We Do (7 Weeks/Peak:13) | [39-30-27-21-19-18-13-28] | (2 of 5)
I don't get the hype ATRL gave this song. I mean I liked how creative this song was when I first heard it in Prism, and I felt kinda ok when it got released. Then it got a good video and I liked it even more. But by its 6th week in my chart, I realized how not good this song actually was and its decline started. It is a bop tho but she has better songs. | | 151. Clean Bandit f/ Sharna Bass - Extraordinary (6 Weeks/Peak:22) | [28-35-35-25-23-22-22-27-31] | (1 of 2 for CB, 1 of 1 for Sharna)
After slaying me soooo much with Rather Be, I had high hopes for Clean Bandit. Then this song got released. Don't get me wrong, this is a really great song. It was just a huge step down for me from Rather Be. |

FAVORITE BALLAD
and
FAVORITE DANCE TRACK
The winners are...
 | FAVORITE BALLAD
SAM SMITH - STAY WITH ME
"I don't want you to leave, will you hold my hand?"
One of the best new artists to come out of his shell this year is this guy right here. Sam Smith, no doubt, had one of the best years in music this 2014 and the main reason is the major success of this song. Stay With Me is definitely one of the best ballads this year and this decade. His voice has something in it that absolutely goes well with these types of songs. Here's to hoping that 2015 will be just as bright for Sam as 2014 had been.
Runners-Up: Amnesia and All of Me |
 | FAVORITE DANCE UPBEAT TRACK
TAYLOR SWIFT - SHAKE IT OFF
"She's like oh my god but I'm just gonna shake it."
Ok, so like holyground, y'all are probably wondering what Shake It Off is doing getting nominated and actually winning favorite DANCE track? Well, the answer is this, basically out of all of the upbeat songs this year, this is probably the one I hold dearest to me when it comes to dancing because I actually danced to this song in a school competition once and it changed my life since then. I gained new friends who kept teasing me to "shake it off" and everytime this song comes on, I always get picked on a lot, in a good way, because of it. And it definitely enlarged my circle of friends bigtime. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that although this song may not be a dance track per se, it is my personal favorite song to dance to this year.
Runners-Up: Talk Dirty and Find You |

The 1975
Christina Grimmie
Echosmith
Sam Smith |
That's it for the third set! Sorry for updating quite late. Thoughts? Guesses? Suggestions? Violent reactions? Tune in in a few hours for the results as well as those ranked 150-141 and the START of my top 20 favorite artists!
PS: Replies
@Karlo: Yes, Daniel AOM almost won best ballad tho
@potent: Talk Dirty almost won and so did Find You And 1R ain't in it because there's no more space
@jbstatic: IKR! And yes STM >>>>>> NINAL
@Brandon: Yesss
@igor: Wow 5/6 of your guesses came true! You're good at this! Bet your guesses for group and new artist won't be true tho
@Pedro: I don't know. There's just something about her last season. She's a great coach, no doubt about that, but she seemed to be against my bet, Christina, especially when she still had Tess and Kristen who I also find to be overrated. Empire is really good tho and I'm also sad I couldn't put it any higher.
@Ghostly: Stay With Me won. but oops Shake It Off
@Red: It's not better than the original imo, but yes, it's up there
@holyground: The awards are more personal rather than general. You can read my explanations.
@Mr. Loco: Rap God is brilliant.
@Regina:
@Mr. Link: tbh Filipino music is really good but i don't think it appeals to foreigners. Some can tho
@JGibson, Already Gone, ASF, mathuss, Sunderland, backtoback, Billiejoe, popstar, ivan, Superpower, Disco_Blisters, Razzle: Thank you for the comments!
