Of course we aren't immune to prejudice. There will be people not accepting homosexuality for a long while. But the public opinion is changing quickly, so let's hope for the best
what i see is the racial extremism of black people. If they don't want sharing their cultural identity with white ( in fact, thoughtout the process of 19th and 20th centuries, they're impacted by white culture as well ) they can leave and go back to Africa.
Who said we even wanted to leave Africa? White people took us against our will and now that were "not needed" we should go back?
Okay now I'm begging people to not automatically label me as a racist for this, because I'm not, but this fallacy needs to stop being spread in order to prove a point. Perhaps some native Africans were stolen, but the majority of them were actually sold to the Europeans by other natives that had enslaved them through war and the like. (Yes, it was still against their will, but it wasn't as if the Europeans were the only bad guys here - the natives that sold them are at fault too.) Was it wrong for the Europeans to purchase them (often for little more than a few shells)? Absolutely - there's no question about that. But they're not the only ones as fault here.
I think being gay has helped me realize majority vs minority a little better, its easier to understand why the protests are happening and why people are so fed up with everything. I still dont think that gay and black oppression should be compared, i cant stand when some gay people try to make it a competition of oppression.
Be nice to everyone especially to your own people that you still discriminate because of their looks and all that stuff. Also it would be nice if the gay community was less oversexualized. I don't want to know what happens in your bedroom nor I want to talk about sex 24/7. Get a life.
Also we should stop forcing our sexuality down everyones throats. It's not gonna make people like us any faster. Calling out black people for using the racist card yet we're using the homophobic card for every damn reason.
We should 'also' start to understand the struggle of other communities rather than attacking them.
Even if you're in a minority group, you can still be discriminatory against another group. If you can't stop your own prejudices, why do you expect people to do the same? Learn to treat everyone equally, regardless of their status, race, orientation, gender, etc, and learn to empathize with everyone.
Without that, you cannot truly be an activist for equality.
