The bolded parts I really disagree with. How is the gay community forcing their sexuality down people's throats? Everywhere I go, I usually see heterosexuality so can I say that straights are showing their heterosexuality down my throat? I dont understand how someone expressing their sexuality is shoving it down anyone's throat.
Also I find it unfair that you're blatantly calling out the gay community for talking about sex all the time when people of all genders, sexualities etc etc do the same. Way to generalise...
I think the gay community, as a general whole, is pretty good at understanding the struggles for others.
To answer the OT: I think what we can learn is not to be complacent, homophobia will always exist sadly.
