I'm really curious about this one. This question is primarily for black people: how do you feel about other races saying the n-word, when singing along or quoting something? Hyphotetically speaking, in a world where people wouldn't use it in other circumstances.
I was just recently thinking about this, because I imagined myself covering a rap song with the n-word in it, and in my mind it automatically occured that someone might find it offensive, so I would pick the censored version and sing that. What's your opinion on this topic?
It's almost impossible not to say it if you're singing/rapping along to a song.
I'd make my best effort not to use the word whilst singing/rapping in front of someone else; no matter what race.
In general though, it's wrong for other races to use the n-word.
Primarily for Black people?? OKAYYYYY lol I use it a lot. Nothing wrong with it, at all. There's nothing offensive about saying n!gg@. However, when the "ER" is added then (to some) it becomes offensive... Do NOT Censor the N word! It's 2014, white people have got to start using the N word more frequently with conviction.
Now some of 'em may actually be harmed in the process but It's worth it

I don't care if my friends use it (or anyone but if you say it I'll give you a side eye because it's just very awkward). Even my friends don't use it (but like I said I wouldn't have a problem with it).
The only time I would is if someone is using it with malicious intent. Never happened to me in my life but it could, that's when it's like
Singing/rapping I don't give a **** because it's in the song you're singing
it's disrespectful. If you're not black, you shouldn't be saying it. I don't think black people should be saying the word either due to its history, but I have no say in that.
If Black people want to use it, it's their right. They shouldn't be told by anyone that's it's right or wrong. It should be their choice. Same with gay people and the F word. Or being that I'm latino, I'll ironically refer to myself as a wetback sometimes.
I hate that whole mentality of "Oh, black people say it all the time. Why can't we?". So stupid. Not everything has to be shared among cultures. Why is that so hard to grasp?
EDIT: But in regards to rapping along with songs, I won't say it in public. I will in private, but only cuz as a Nicki stan it's impossible otherwise.
I don't mind others saying it with an A at the end and isn't being used in a derogatory context.I'm not going to be offended if a rap song happened to have the word in it and you're singing along to it.Not all people are OK with it,though.
With an ER should NOT be said by anyone.Black or otherwise.
