10. LADY GAGA ft. CHRISTINA AGUILERA - DO WHAT U WANT
ARTPOP // 1 January, 2014
First single for the year and one of the best released in 2014. I never thought these two would work together after all the 'feuds' created by media back in 2010 but I was plaesantly surprised. What's more, the 'What you want Lady Gaga'/'..What you want with me Christina' part slays me just everytime.
9. ARIANA GRANDE ft. THE WEEKND - LOVE ME HARDER
My Everything // 30 September, 2014
'Love Me Harder' is my favourite Ariana song and introduction to The Weeknd. What I love about the song is its dark sound which is quite the deviation from any of her previous material. The flow of the song is just incredible and the way Ariana and The Weeknd's voices match is incredible.
8. MARIAH CAREY - THIRSTY
Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse // 13 May, 2014
'Uh, you thirsty?' Hell yeah, am I thirsty. I know it's a promotinal/radio single but whatever, it is still the best song on the album. What I needed from Mariah was another ratchet yet classy jam to obsess over. Moreover, Hit-Boy's production on this one is out of this world. And I'm still mad at this not receiving a proper video release.
7. NICOLE SCHERZINGER - YOUR LOVE
Big Fat Lie // 30 May, 2014
This one was huge in my country but it failed to make such an impact as expected worldwide. It's a really strong comeback single that follows all the current trends. I love how she sings in a variety of ways and that makes it evident how talented she really is.
6. JENNIFER LOPEZ - SAME GIRL
A.K.A. // 4 February, 2014
Yet another promo single that made it onto my chart. I love this song, I love the fact that she got away from all the messy pop/dance singles she did with Pitbull and decided to go back to R'n'B. And it turned out that's what she does best. Great production and great job on the lyrics provided by Chris Brown.
2. MARIAH CAREY - ME. I AM MARIAH... THE ELUSIVE CHANTEUSE
27 May, 2014
I never understood the hate on this album. It is such a solid R'n'B record that every R'n 'B listener should have/listen to. Mariah is more emotional than ever, she also brings back that melodic thingy that we love about her, and damn those vocals...say what you want I don't really care. Highlights include 'Cry', 'Faded', 'Camouflage', 'Money', and 'Supernatural'.
