Hey yall!
Hope everyone enjoyed TPP as much as I’ve been! Good thing about being banned is that I was able to ignore the toxic ATRL fishbowl environment this past week to just focus on the music. I never entered any of the chart threads or that ish because I just know it’ll ruin the whole experience.
As far as #s go, I actually think 175K is a great number for Nicki and more or less what I expected. This ain’t 2010 or even 2012. She still has the 3rd (possibly 2nd?) highest opening for a hip-hop album this year. And unlike PFRR, this album actually has legs to stand on, like PF did. I think word of mouth has been amazing for this, so I see it doing very well in the long run. If yall don’t mind, I’m just gonna leave some quick thoughts I had about my favorite songs.
1, All Things Go – When this was releases, it instantly went Top 5 on my all-time list. So beautiful and raw, and I love the hook.
2. I Lied – Love it Gives me Self-titled/Aquarius teas. However, I think the chorus is better than the verses. The verses were actually kind of unnecessary.
3. TCG – Perfection. Feels epic to run to.
4. GOYK -
This is literally EVERYTHING I wanted from a Nicki/Ari collab. Fuxk a Bang Bang, this is what dreams are made of.
I can die happy now.
5. Feeling Myself – Anyone who calls this song less than ***flawless really needs to examine their life choices. Nicki bars >>>>>>>>> I’m so glad this is gonna be a single.
8. Four Door Aventedor- That PIO/B.I.G. flow got me so hype.
10. Buy a Heart – Love the production and Nicki’s parts. I personally think another rapper could have fit better than Meek, but I realize it’s his song.
13. TNISY – Starships shot Masqeurade’s club up and conceived this pop gem. Obvious summer smash.
16, Grand Piano – Does anyone else get country vibes from this? Like, I can see Carrie Underwood singing this. Nicki sounds amazing tho.
17. Big Daddy – YASSSS!!!! Slaughter that itty bitty piggy, Onika!
18. Shangai – An even better version of Chi-raq. Ugh, so hard and vicious. That production is rude. Just plain disrespectful. The last minute or so.
Oh and btw, Lookin Ass fits perfectly between Only and Want Some More on my itunes tracklist.
