I didn't really find Ashrah interesting in Deception (her concept was, but nothing else really). I did love Li Mei in Deception though. Boon hasn't said either are completely gone, at least. |
Not really, only Frost and Kira were female versions of old characters. Some may say Ashrah was a female Raiden, but only because she wears all white. I've also seen people saying Li Mei was a female Liu Kang but they had nothing in common other than acrobatic moves and ~looking~ asian. Tanya was a recolored Kitana but had very different moves. Sareena had nothing in common with other character, only in MKTE where she had Quan Chi's moves.
I agree on Ashrah, her concept was interesting but her story didn't really go anywhere, they were going on the fight path in MKA with her rivalry with Sareena, but we didn't get the aftermath to that. And Li Mei was PERFECT in MKD, i have hopes for her, since she was 1 of the only SIX characters that was playable in all 3 PS2-era games, i'm assuming the team likes her, especially since she really wasn't popular in MKDA, but she developed a cult following in MKD.
