Don't think the solution to trying to end racism is to not talk about it... It needs to be talked about but its a sensitive topic. People can't get hostile and need to make it a safe zone for everyone to ask questions freely. Its uncomfortable but that's how you learn. You can't go around saying white people's opinions dont matter or they're all evil..Deuces ,and you cant say black people are too sensitive. Asians are also but aside with what they experience so they need to be heard as well. Just try to understand where everyone is coming from and have an open mind. Stop invlaidating others and stop trying to offend each other.

I don't necessarily agree with this. If a white person is not educated about topics regarding race then their opinion does not matter. They can't provide any new experiences or input without any knowledge to back it up. On the other hand POCs have no choice but to have knowledge of race because it affects their everyday lives. A lot of my white friends care more about hearing the experiences of POCs rather than coming into the conversation and spewing non-sense around. People like that are more productive to the conversation.

I love that piece because the beauty of white privilege is the fact that one can live an entire life and not even realize it. This gives a great reality check.

I agree white people shouldn't tell black people what to feel regarding race. But if you continue to shut down every white persons opinion just because they're white how are they supposed to understand? I think a better approach is to educate instead of saying "your opinion doesn't matter because you're white." It creates a hostile environment involving race discussions and in turn people just refuse to talk about it which doesn't make racism go away. I get frustrated when white people try to invalidate our feelings but at the same time we have to try to move past the uncomfortable parts and try to educate and make them see our perspective. You might say it shouldn't be our job but we have to be open to educating and others have to be open to learning...
