“There comes a time when the system realises that “I can sell this white person” a lot easier.”
Before Azealia Banks weighed in on her supposed use and abuse of Black culture on ‘Hot 97′, ‘Crooked Smile’ rapper J. Cole made his way to Power 105.1 to explain his recent criticism of Australian superstar Iggy Azalea, whom he compared to Elvis Presley here. There, he revealed that the remarks he made about the rapper wasn’t criticism at all, billing them an “observation.”
What he deserved? The link between her success as a Caucasian female MC and efforts made by corporations to sell African-American culture to audiences more likely to respond to her than an actual African-America…even if said African-American is more talented.
I know it's hard for some of ya'll to see it through your own narrow minded, white-hating perspective, but not everyone sees Iggy Azalea as trash, let alone the self-appointed leader for the new KKK movement. You don't like her? k great, move tf on
the context for this post was deleted but as I'm sure most of you can imagine it was another Internet troll saying something derogatory and disgusting towards Iggy
Poor Iggy. I wonder how she feels. People just keep knocking her down. I don't understand. I'm black, and I honestly don't feel like she's making a mockery of us. Maybe she just felt that's what would help her become marketable. I don't see people smashing on Brooke Candy etc. Why?
