Who's Azealia Banks anyway?
Btw, can't people just leave Iggy alone? This jealous chick Azealia should never speak again because she's pooping through her mouth for years now.
Azealia, work sweetie, just like we all have do to be someone in life, so you won't ever need to speak bad stuff about artists you want to be again. Oh and eat healthier, because the jealousy you been eating isn't doing you any good.

For those who don’t get the issue Azealia has been trying to explain and why she’s chosen Iggy to be her target
Imagine you were great at your craft - where you’re virtually understood to be really ****ing good at what you do. You’re considered forward-thinking and skilled as a creative. Your skill is unmatched. Now imagine others, whose music is not as good and their craft not as technically good as yours, being awarded while you’re ignored. It would be frustrating.
Now imagine how frustrating it is when the reality is that the mediocre product is being praised because a white woman has made it, while you have to work 20x as hard just to have 10% of the recognition the white woman has to get because you’re a black woman.
Now imagine this happening in a genre that is supposed to be your people’s safe haven. Black little boys and girls don’t get to dream about being big pop stars or country stars or rock stars. They get only one little slice of the ****ing pie they had to work to carve out and create and are told “this is yours - we will demonize it and use it to portray your people as uneducated and dangerous thugs who deserve to be shot, but its yours”. Then its taken from you. “Hip hop is now white”. The one thing you had, the thing society uses to justify the killing of your people and to literally demonize your culture is now chic and something cool for white people to do (with mediocre results) and they’re awarded for it.
It’s a reminder for black people that this world isn’t yours and it was never meant to be - that you are the other, you are the outsider and nothing is yours and will be taken for the gain of white people no matter how good you are; anything done by a white person will be praised more, considered better and received better because many societies on this Earth are still rooted in the teachings of white supremacy.
This isn’t about Iggy, but her being a documented racist doesn’t help her case and she, due to her own fault, is now the face of white privilege, of white mediocrity. Little white girls can grow up and dream about being anything they want, to some restrictions, but little black girls? Nobody in this world cares about little black girls and we teach little black girls not to even care about themselves.
When Azealia Banks is on the radio, cursing Igloo out and angry and pissed off and maybe saying things she shouldn’t, she’s coming from a place of anger and hurt and putting her foot down as a black woman and saying - “f**k you. You’ve taken everything else from me. You’ve taken everything you can from my people and forced us to make this through our own pain and struggle that you caused. You can’t have it. You have everything else due to simply being white, you will not take the one thing black people have worked hard to keep and make for themselves against centuries of modern ****ing institutional oppression and racism. f**k you.”

I now have so much more respect for Azealia. What she said is entirely true. For Nicki to get know and be respected she had to put on the blond wig and sing these pop songs.
Just look at these big radio stations and those songs that have rappers as their features. They cut out the rap for the most part i.e Dark Horse and Bang Bang. But for a song like Fancy they leave her verses in it. Why is that when arguably the best part is Charli's chorus? Why is it that they wont even look twice as playing songs like 7/11 and yet play a song like Black Widow?

All of this.
I was ignorant enough to not quite understand, before Azealia explained how it really feels to be in her position. And at times, have 'brushed the issue under the rug' and thought it wasn't as big of a deal as some make out and that perhaps people were overacting.
I've been thinking about this a lot today, and will probably continue to do so over the next few days. On one hand, Banks makes some valid points, and on the other, I like Eminem - someone who has benefited from this said issue for years.
It's thought provoking, and if it makes me a better person then I'm all for Azealia running her mouth and standing up for herself.

Azealia clearly has some good and valid points about the black culture appropriation and racism. Some kudos for her but I still think it was unnecessary how she called out Iggy as s*** on the radio...just that but still it was such a nice and sincere interview

But it all goes back to Azealia's statement about Grammys = artistic excellence.
While I'm not an Eminem fan, I am not obtuse and stubborn enough to disregard his talent. The man can rap, however problematic his image and lyricism, very very well.
Iggy and Macklemore are not in the same vein, not at the same level, not nearly as talented and THAT is where the insult hits and hurts most to the community.

I hope you really consider taking a closer listen to the interview.
Firstly, Azealia was asked about Iggy by the interviewers.
Secondly, she states, more than once, that Iggy is only a blatant/disrespectful example of the larger issue and unjust system at work.
Beyond music--politics, issues, laws, business, etc.
Azealia stands on solid ground and even people who didn't understand her at first are now starting to see the light.
It's time to expose what people have just comfortably and blindly accepted for all this time.

I love how people think Azealia isn't successful because she's black and not because she tweeted about not trusting Jews, uses homophobic slurs, and calls people "shoe-shining coons". I mean, what do you expect. Iggy has had some scandals, but she hasn't alienated that many people on purpose.
